Welcome to Las ventas Bullring, considered the Bullfighting Cathedral. The most important bullring in the world. The one which gives everything and takes everything away. The biggest reward for those who manage to leave through its Puerta Grande and a challenge for those who hardly think about it.
Las Ventas Bullring was built in 1929 on the land called Las Ventas del Espritu Santo, to which it owes its name. It is the largest bullring in Spain, with a total area of 45,800 square meters and capacity for 23,797 people.
Las Ventas Bullring was declared an artistic historical heritage in 1994. The biggest event that houses the Las Ventas Bullring is undoubtedly the San Isidro Fair, one of the events which has consolidated it as the best bullring in the world.
Las Ventas Bullring has been designed and built in the Neo Mudejar style. The Neo Mudejar is the most characteristic style of the bullrings in Spain.

Wow- what a great self guided tour. We loved this tour for a few reasons:

-Flexibility to visit at whatever time worked for our schedule
    - Ability to go at our own speed once the tour started
    - Feeling of having the bullring to ourselves- this was a real benefit
    - Museum was very interesting and a nice way to end the tour
    - Overall content on the tour was very informative

Take the train here- it's very easy and the train stop is right below the bullring.

Our experience was perhaps, unique. On the day of our tour, the bull ring was an open market with free admission. There was some confusion on getting the audio tour so a gentlemen took us on a personal tour, that was exceptional. I'd offer five stars but I found the information to be a bit unclear on where to go for the tour. Also, the person behind the desk at the Museum, was confused when presented our voucher.

We rode the metro to the bullring and once there it was not open although we had confirmed our booking. A motorcycle event was taking place and they were setting up for that. Extra waist of 22.00 to get there and back. Very disappointed about lack of notification

The day we went they had a biking championship set up taking place so we did not have the audio tour due to security reasons however we got a personalised guided tour which was much better
Very informative tour loved it must go place in Madrid as it happens only here..

The Bullring was breathtaking. The staff was very nice. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is they wouldn't let us go into the bullring. They don't let people in if it's the day of the fight. Just an FYI dont go the day of a fight if you want to go in the ring.

A good tour if you aren't familiar with how a Bullfight works. You are given a handheld machine in your given language that explains the working of a Bullfight and the behind the scenes preparations.
If this is your 1st time and you wish to see a Bullfight I would highly recommend this tour .

It is not worth it. Going from numbered site to numbered site was not clearly marked and difficult to follow. The place was cold and dirty. The center bullring was completely obstructed by a blow-up bubble structure erected for a pop concert. I highly recommend not taking this tour.
