Our driver was informative and the guide we had at the waterfalls, although quiet was very knowledgeable. The disappointment was the waterfalls. The flow wasn't that great and although the hike was amazingly beautiful, it wasn't what we expected. Almost wish I had done the zipline instead. Was prepared for the mosquitoes but no matter how prepared, they still manage to find a couple of places to bite.

This tour was only a 15 minute walk through a mosquito infested forest to a small (maybe 10 foot) fall. The pool was small and too shallow to swim in. The rest of the time was driving to/from the port. If you do go, make sure you bring bug repellent!!

As there had been rain the night before we arrived the trek was quite difficult and muddy. The 2 local lads who were our guides did a good job assisiting us over the muddy slippery path but one lady fell and broke her wrist on the walk out. This is not a nature walk and a fair level of fitness is required. The scenery is beautiful and the boys pointed out significant plants to us. The swim in the cool mountain water was worth the trek.

Amazing and down-to-earth. Just our family one-on-one - we felt so special from being picked up and through the day - and laughed at the 5-6 bus loads of other tourists on a cruise-organised trip passing us by, while we relaxed and chatted to our hosts one-on-one. A laid-back but authentic time, kava and the best pineapple in the world on offer. We had a great time, lingered as long as we wanted in the fabulous pools and waterfalls others from the cruise told us later they got 10 minutes maximum and directed our own trip. Kids 6 and 9 loved every minute including the ride on the ute pick-up truck. Was the highlight of our trip, and by far the best value for money.

Probably the highlight of our cruise, the young guide was gorgeous and very informative and helpful
Only the 2 of us with him
Great Kava Ceremony and lunch provided at his village afterwards -
An absolutely amazing day! You could not possibly have a more genuine, authentic and comprehensive introduction to Fiji. 4 of us were picked up at the cruise dock by the owner of this small company, and taken inland to meet our host and waterfall guid at his house in a remote village. From there, it was about a 45 minute hike through the rainforest to the waterfall. There was narration throughout with plant and animal identification. The trail was uphill all the way, and because it had been raining, it was muddy and slippery - just what you would expect in the jungle. Swimming in, under, and around the waterfall was fantastic especially since there was just 4 of us. We swam about 45 minutes and then hiked back down. Our guide then invited us into his home, where we did the Kava ceremony and then shared a delicious lunch prepared by his wife. It was a great example of how eco-tourism can provide the income for a family to allow them to stay in their ancestral home and maintain their way of life in a changing world. Highly recommended.
