A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Canterbury Cathedral is both a serene place of holiness and beautiful tourist destination. As the Cathedral of the Archbishop, the spiritual leader of the Church of England, Canterbury holds a special place in British history. No ordinary Cathedral, Canterbury has a long history that is often described as England in Stone; from the role of its Archbishops in the Magna Carta to the murder of Thomas Becket after a power struggle with the King of England, Canterburys history is intertwined with that of England. Founded by St Augustine in 600 AD, the Cathedral today is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England, and the first building in the country to be redesigned in this popular style in 1774.

Soaring 350ft above the crashing waves of the English Channel, the White Cliffs of Dover are an instantly recognisable landmark of Britain. From Caesar to Shakespeare, some of historys most important figures recognised the towering symbolism of the cliffs. Traditionally the site where British royalty would welcome overseas visitors, the cliffs served as an intimidating reminder of Britain's immovable resoluteness sense of independence.

The tour guide was wonderful and the trip was great. We saw dover and went into Leeds castle which was amazing. The cathedral was fantastic

this was a Day One tour, leaving from the coach station in Westminster and returning to Victoria station at about 7 PM. The guide was very knowledgeable not only about the attractions themselves but throughout the entire trip, literally from the time we were pulling out of the coach station, and she explained the necessity of being precisely on time. As we drove through London, she told us many things about the prior terrible smog problems in London, the vast improvement should've been made, pointed out the housing of all kinds, commented on the neighborhoods as we went through. We even had a number of lectures from her about the national health, service, average, wages, and taxes,. Very interesting and appropriate. At Leedscastle she was not permitted to guide us in the building and told us so in advance, but because of the preferred access of this tour company, we were driven literally to the front door of the castle saving substantial time, probably 20 minutes each way walking to and from the car park. It is an interesting castle restored in the 1920s by an American heiress. The grounds are beautiful but not overwhelming. We next went to Dover. While she was very helpful with information about Dover and I am well acquainted with the importance of Dover and Dunkirk I think if anything could've been spared, perhaps that was it because the time was somewhat short for both Canterbury Leeds, and especially for Canterbury cathedral. It was there that she really shined. She was able to give us a guided tour, and with the assistance of individual hearing devices, all of us were able to hear her as we walked through Canterbury and into the cathedral. It was spectacular and stunning in every way, and while the tour was, moving right along at all times it did not seem rushed. It is a truly historic, majestic and spiritual place. The driver. Ben, was a wizard behind the wheel getting into places with that bus that I think I would've had a hard time driving into with my car. This was a fairly long day, but well worth it in every respect.

I did this same tour about 30 years ago with some friends. This time, I was with my daughter and I'm glad that I did it again. Our driver was Derek and our tour guide was Rowan. The bus left pretty much on time, and Derek did a great job getting out of the city and out to the country where the real adventure awaited. Rowan was a great guide. She had great historical knowledge of the locations that we visited, and interspersed her commentary with personal anecdotes. She was both informative and entertaining. Leeds Castle is a must-see. The castle itself has so much history, but the supporting grounds add to the experience as well. Last time I went we did the hedge maze, but we didn't have time on this trip. We did have a bout of rain after we left the castle and were exploring the grounds, but it was short-lived. The next stop was the Cliffs of Dover. We didn't have the best conditions for pictures as it was windy and rainy, but they are still a sight to behold. That stop is pretty quick as there is not much to do there other than take a few pictures. The final stop was Canterbury. The town itself was fun with plenty of restaurants and shopping. But the cathedral is steeped in so much history and still plays an important role in the royal pageantry of the country today. If you have a free day while in London to do this tour, I would highly recommend it. And if you can Rowan and Derek in the bargain, that will make it all the better.

Fantastic tour!! Long day, but worth it. Especially with Rowan as the tour guide. She absolutely loves her job and it shows! Very energetic and lively personality! We enjoyed her so much and very knowledgable. Our driver Derek was a great too. Both are a great team!
-
The tour guide (KEVIN) gave informative and funny commentary throughout the trip, even making side jokes from time to time. He also did the commentary in Japanese for our Japanese fellow tour guests. Our driver, Derrick, was also very good at navigating traffic and made excellent time for the trip. All in all, a day well spent! Highly recommended!

This was a nice variety of stops for a day excursion from London. The guide Rowan and driver Dave were great- very entertaining. Rowan knew the area well and talked a good amount but not too much during the day. She was also willing to answer any questions we had. The only thing I would change is maybe a different place to view the white cliffs more closely. Otherwise it was a great day.
-
Rowan, our guide, was great. She really knows her subject matter. Thanks for a great experience. The castle and cathedral were beautiful. Worth the cost.
-
Our guide Manon was very knowledgeable and paced the information given on the various sites in a pleasant and interesting manner. It was a lovely day- Leeds Castle was beautiful and the stop at Dover Beach was sufficient for us to soak up the ambience and to get some excellent pictures. I would have given 5 stars, however, we were disappointed that we did not have access to key areas of the Canterbury Cathedral since a graduation ceremony was scheduled. Clients should be forewarned when booking so that they can decide if to pay to enter the Cathedral. Overall, a wonderful trip!

I really enjoyed this tour. This was my first time in England and I toured with guide Rowan and driver Tyreece. They were super friendly and Rowan was knowledgeable of everything we toured! Tyreece was a safe and great driver and Rowan talked a decent amount. Maybe at some points a little much, but I do get overstimulated with auditory stimuli if that helps provide context. She gave us breaks, was comical, informative, and sweet. I wish we had a bit more time in certain areas, but to be honest, the pacing of the tour was well done given the amount of time and energy it must take to bring a tour like this to life as much as these people did, and I simply cannot recommend this experience enough to others. (Thank you so much for making my first trip overseas a great one)

Thank you to Rowan and Tyreece for a wonderful day. Beautiful sunshine once we got to Canterbury. Lovely visit to all the stops and wonderful commentary.
