Know More about this tour

Your walking tour starts at Plaza Mayor, also known as Plaza de Armas, in Lima's historic center where youll meet your guide and group. Wander around this popular neighborhood in the early evening as locals file into the charming squares, listening to your in-the-know guide about Lima's nightlife and bars.

Head to the longest-running bar in Peru, made famous by the many presidents and politicians who have visited it over the years. Learn about the famous cocktails prepared there and try one if you'd like. Then, become an expert in Peruvian snacks as you sample a variety of dishes such as anticuchos, a much-loved street food that consists of grilled meat on skewers (similar to a shish kebab), and picarones, a doughnutlike dessert made from squash and sweet potato, from street vendors.

Your Lima tour continues at an old German bar famous for its live piano music and the ghost of its original owner, who is said to still play the piano each night. Have a drink or two and then head to a traditional 1920s bar where you'll learn all about pisco. Learn about the national cocktail made by combining pisco, a regional brandy, with lime or lemon juice, bitters, syrup and egg whites along with other, lesser-known drinks made with the liquor.

  • The tour makes three stops - one to the oldest bar in Lima, another to the food carts along the river, and a final at a bar just outside the square. I wasn't overly impressed by our sampling of food and drink, which included a Pisco Sour, anticuchos, two desserts donuts and pudding, a Chicano, and Peruvian beer. Our guide did a good job of answering cultural and historical questions on the tour, but I think you can sample the drinks and food easily on your own.

  • The tour guide Paula was very nice and with a lot of knowledge. Unluckily the rout was changed due to the Pop visit and all we had are two bars visit.

  • There was too much walking/travel time between stops. Food was good but the portions were too large.

  • Can't really call it a bar crawl if you go to two bars and get 2 drinks. Food was fine but crazy cheap. Not worth the 45

  • This was a great way to get introduced to Picso, and to see downtown Lima at night.

  • We really enjoyed this tour. My wife and I were lucky to be the only ones on this tour and our guide turned up on time at the major Plaza and whisked us off to our first bar within minutes! This bar is the oldest in Lima, an institution and does amazing drinks!
We then had some fantastic street food, consisting of some anticuchos, picarones and others and this was brilliant! This is all within walking distance and the ambience was terrific.
A few more bars later and our guide put us in a taxi back to the hotel. It was a great night, you meet some terrific local characters and it puts you at ease of where to go in such a monstrous city the Lima is! It really brings out a different side of Lima and gives you more confidence of what to do and where to go.

  • Paula was a great guide to the city, I had a brilliant time getting to know her and seeing downtown Lima at night. The food and drinks included were really tasty too. A great night!
My only negative comment was that the meeting point was so busy it took us a bit of extra time to find one another.

  • This tour was a great starter for Lima as far as food and drinks go. Simply a perfect way to start your vacation.
The guides are so informative and have a vast amount of knowledge.

  • Did it on the first night in Lima and really set a good tone for the visit to Peru. Food was interesting and got really nice stories about the people, history and culture as well. Had more food, more stories and more history over the week and a half we were there but this tour increased the enjoyment, understanding and appreciation for the rest of the trip.
Favorite part was the night market where we were the only noticeable foreigners. Ate many things there I'm sure I would have never eaten if I had not been on a tour. Also made a few stops a more traditional establishments for more traditional foods.
One surprise was a stop at a Bavarian Pub where we had sausage and beers. There's a story there that made the tour interesting and diversified.
The guide was very flexible and allowed substitute drinks for the non-alcohol drinkers and gave monetary credit to the members of the tour that wanted to try food that was not on the tour menu.

  • Amazing, Paula was nothing less than awesome and showed me a good time sharing Lima.
