Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in early morning at the Roma Termini railway station and head out to enjoy the very best of the Amalfi Coast without having to worry about the logistics. From the winding streets of quaint, cliffside towns, to sparkling blue waters and picturesque hilltop farms you’ll see, touch, taste, and experience this incredible region like never before.

The day starts in Rome where you’ll catch a high speed train to Naples with an intimate group of no more than 15 fellow travelers and an expert tour leader. From there you’ll  hop on a private, air-conditioned bus that will wind its way up into the narrow roads of the Amalfi Coast.

Your first stop is Positano, a small fishing town that has long been the holiday destination of choice for VIPs, from the Romantic poets of the 19th century to today’s Hollywood stars. After an orientation Walk with your guide through Positano you’ll have two hours of free time in which you can browse the boutiques filled with world-famous beachwear, have leather sandals made to fit your feet and/or enjoy a relaxing lunch of local delicacies at a seaside cafe. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit too, there’s nothing nicer on a summer’s day than a dip in the sea.

Next you’ll board a boat for a 30-minute ride down the coast to Amalfi town. Along the way you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the dramatic coastline as it rises out of the sea in soaring cliffs.

At Amalfi you’ll head up one of those cliffs to a lovely lemon orchard where you’ll enjoy a tasting of one of the region’s most beloved products, the sweet, tangy liqueur called limoncello. The farm is perched above the town and offers stunning views out to sea. After the tasting you’ll have an hour to explore the town and, if you enjoyed your tasting, buy some limoncello.

To end the day you’ll hop back on the boat for a 40-minute cruise to Salerno where you’ll catch the train back to Rome.

  • Great day trip! Packed so much into one day, but never rushed or overwhelmed. Marta was a fabulous tour guide. Personable, friendly and ready with advice for anything you may want to do. The tour let you experience fast speed train as well as bus and a little of everything! Nice amount of time is Positano and Amalfi on your own to explore, shop and eat. Limoncello tasting was informative as well as tasty, be prepared to walk a lot of stone stairs! Had time in Amalfi to eat on your own, but wish there was the option of having lunch arranged with the group, so you didn't waste time and got to socialize with other people on the tour with you. Highly recommend this day trip!!

  • Our guide, who I can't remember his name was really good. Very knowledgeable and funny. Very good tour

  • Beautiful! Great day, and jam packed with a full schedule. Recommend this tour!

  • Positano is amazing coast town but you only get about an hour to explore. Wish for longer time. Limoncello tasting was disappointing you climb 210 steps get this gorgeous view of Amalfi, but don't even get a full shot glass of limoncello! You get a sliver in a plastic shot glass. They do provide a piece of lemon cake and a pitcher of lemon water per table. Tour name was Limoncello Tasting I expected Andre of a tasting. Maybe change the name to lemon farm tour. If you do this tour opt for the free time in Amalfi over the tasting it will give you a better memory

Guides were great. Well organized and knowledgeable of the places and things to see.

  • Nice trip.. Thank you Rihana for being our guide...

  • This was our best Viator tour of the four we purchased. It's well worth the cost. The guide was attentive from pickup to getting our ride back to our hotel. The trip up the lemon grove was the highlight of tour

  • Just an amazing well organized day. So many different facets of the Amalfi coast in one day. We cannot rate this tour highly enough. If we could, we would give it 6 stars!

  • Let me first say...Hugo--awesome tour guide! This was a wonderful tour which I would highly recommend. The tour of the lemon farm was my favorite part...lots of steps, but they went slowly (and gave people the option of shopping instead). scenery, shopping, limoncello, and of course, Hugo!

  • Worth getting up early for. We had a picture perfect day! Our tour guide Sarah was organized and informative. The train ride is quick then you get on a small bus and ride the coast line with fabulous views. Once you reach Positano you are no longer on the bus and take a boat to the towns of Amalfi and Salerno. You get to spend a fair amount of time at each town so you do not feel rushed. The boat rides with the views of the coastline are gorgeous. Salerno was a disappointing town but you just pick up the train there so it is a must to get back to Rome. Our tour guide Sarah went over and above by surprising us with food and drink on the train ride back to Rome. If you only have a day to see the Amalfi coast this would be the way to do it.

  • Loved this Trip. Rhianne our guide was excellent and went above and beyond to make certain we were educated on Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi. Viator better keep this incredible and generous young woman on their tours or they will hear from me if they don't. And she deserves a raise for corralling wayward tourists. The Limoncello tasting was a bit of a hike up steep stairs so make certain you can handle the exertion, but totally worth the tasting and view. The lemons are sweet, the rind edible and Salvatore the owner of his family limoncello business is a delight as well as passionate about saving his family's generations owned farm. Positano is always gorgeous and Amalfi is quaint. Your visit to Italy should not miss this tour or these places. You won't regret it.
