Know More about this tour

Hilly, seaside Lisbon may be one of the most underrated capitals in Europe. Its also one of the most eye-pleasing. The signs of its long and intriguing history are everywhere. This 4-hour, small-group guided tour takes you to the most important sites and neighborhoods of the Portuguese capital.
After pickup at the meeting point, hop in the comfortable minivan and head first to the citys cathedral, the oldest building in Lisbon. Called Santa Maria Maior de Lisboa or S de Lisboa, the cathedral was built during the Romanesque architecture period and later renovated in the Gothic and Baroque periods. From there, head up to Graa, the highest neighborhood in the city, for expansive views of Lisbon. Drive through the neighborhood of Alfama, the birthplace of fado music, and then explore Belm, the neighborhood that, centuries past, saw many famous explorers, including Vasco da Gama, set sail to find new worlds and new treasures.
After seeing the Monastery of Jernimos, the Belm Tower and the Discoveries Monument, taste the delicious and world-famous traditional pastel de Belem, an custard tart invented at the Monastery of Jernimos and introduced to the outside world in the early 19th century.

Pass by the Basilica of Estrela and the Chiado district, stroll around Baixa, the downtown, and stroll in some of the citys most stunning squares: Rossio, Figueira and Restauradores. Next, try a glass of vinho verde literally green wine, it is meant to be drunk while young and fresh and a cod cake, a savory delight that is a favorite in this part of Europe. Finish the tasting with a glass of Portugals most famous wine, port, paired with cheese. At the end of the tour, youll be dropped off at the Rossio Square where you can stay for the afternoon and return to your hotel at your leisure.

  • My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Lisbon. Our guide Nuno was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and his enthusiasm for the city and its history was infectious. Even though our tour was on Christmas Eve and there was some disruption to our itinerary because of holiday hour closures, Nuno was nevertheless able to give us a wonderful experience and was able to deftly navigate these issues. We saw a variety of churches and monuments, and also tried custard tarts and tasted wine. Throughout the tour, Nuno was able to share a lot of historical details and knowledge. Nuno even went the extra mile and helped us buy a phone card and took us to our lunch reservation after our tour was over. I would highly recommend Nuno and this tour.

  • The tour guide is amazing to show you everything you need to know and food testing is very goods!

  • Our Portuguese driver Edgar was fabulous, spoke very good English, had qualifications as a travel and tourism guide and the whole experience was professional, informative and fun. I would highly recommend this tour and tour guide.

  • This is a good tour and you see many of the highlights of the city but our guide skipped a couple of things on the tour because a road was closed and because we were running short on time at the end of the tour. If we had seen all the places on the list, it would have been a great tour when you first arrive at Lisbon to get a lay of the city and know where to spend your time.

  • Pickup point was very easy to find, and, thankfully, very near our hotel. Thelma, our guide, was great in all respects. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, helpful, and quick to answer each of our questions. She was a terrific mother hen to all 7 of us little chicks.

I strongly recommend taking the small-group tour like we did. Vans can go where larger vehicles just cannot go because of narrow and winding streets in the central city.

  • The guide was friendly, we loved the tour and the sites. We stopped for a lovely breakfast with Pasteis de Belem and strolled around. After a while, all the monasteries, churches and cathedrals are mixed up but..

  • Excellent trip. Our guide was fantastic!

  • Our guide Jaime was amazing! We were the only people with him that morning so it really was a private tour. The highlight for us was Belem and their famous pastry was insanely delish!

  • It was a very good tour. Our guide Jaoa was excellent.

  • This was fun and our guide was excellent. The wine tasting at the end was not needed.
He took us all over Lisbon and let us get out and walk around take pictures. By far the best.
