Know More about this tour

At 9:00am, begin your 1-day tour on Edinburghs most famous street, The Royal Mile where your driver-guide provides insight into Edinburghs fascinating past. As you make your way toward Stirling, hear the story of the true "Braveheart," William Wallace. Explore one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, Stirling Castle (own expense). Enjoy incredible views from the battlements to the Wallace Monument, which you can choose to explore instead (own expense). The monument offers sweeping views over the southern Highlands and the Ochil Hills. If you prefer, simply meander the historical streets of Stirlings old town.

Next, we head over the Duke's Pass with stunning views over the TorssachsNational Park to Scotlands most romantic loch (lake), Loch Lomond, learning about the inspiration for one of Scotlands most famous and best loved songs along the way. At Loch Lomond, part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, enjoy the views of the largest mass of fresh water in the U.K. Just admire the views, alternatively enjoy a relaxed stroll on the tranquil shores or a short hike up to Craigie Fort before traveling back to central Edinburgh.

Our final stop of the day is at Glengoynewhisky distillery. Taste the very spirit of Scotland as the expert guides take you through the lengthy process of creating Scotlands national drink (own expense). If whisky isn't your thing, you can take a walk to nearby DrumgoyneHill and catch views of thewaterfallnestled behind the distillery.

  • a very interesting day out from Edinburgh , are guide was very good , are first stop was the stunning Stirling castle , where we were given a free tour which was very interesting
after a lunch break we were taken to see loch Lomond
but my highlight of the tour was the Glengoyne distillery tour , it was the first time I had been to a whisky distillery , and was explained how the whisky is made starting from the barley grains, and also learnt the difference between blended and single malt
also got try try some great whisky
I would recommend this tour while in Edinburgh

  • Great trip and great guide Jamie

  • Our driver Gary was a recent hire and did a great job. The tour was well paced for all participants. I would have preferred a docent or guide in some places but we attached ourselves to a random group. The Glengoy e distillery was a treat, both from the whisky and our hosts. Humor and love of country were evident from everyone.. Highly recommended!

  • Brendan was a great guide. Very entertaining.

  • Good trip!
Our guide was very knowledgeable but a little formal maybe??
Stirling Castle was good but the next stop we felt was tacky
We saw a little of Loch Lomond but all too briefly!
The distillery tour was quite good but our guide was new so had to keep
    saying I will check that
But the most annoying thing was that we were booked in to a show at 7pm and the bus tour should
have finished at 6pm but the guide allowed us all to look at the Shire Horses when we just di not
    have time!
And so our evening was VERY stressed!!!!!

  • Central pickup. Guide was good- fun and informative. The Loch visit was kind of lacklustre. Enjoyed Stirling Castle and the Distillery tour.

  • Your guide Barney was great! He was full of fun facts and kept the drive very interesting. The time spent at each of the stops was the perfect amount. And ending with the very interesting whiskey tour topped off the day perfectly. We found it very refreshing to get out of the City and see the countryside for awhile. Well worth the money!

  • Had a great day out on this day tour. It's interesting to visit the Stirling Castle and Glengoyne Distillery.

  • Stirling Castle was amazing! Loch Lomond was nice but really just another lake. The Glengoyne Distillery was informative and interesting, situated in the hills of the Lowlands.

  • We had a great day out on this trip on 19th May. Stirling castle has beautiful views with tons of history. Make sure you start with the free guided tour lasting half an hour. The minivan was very comfortable and the driver was experienced and gave a witty account of English / Scottish history. As an added bonus, our driver took a small detour and gave us the experience of taking pics of Doune castle which features in Game of Thrones TV series. Loch Lomond is truly awesome and I particularly loved the wild bluebells we saw in the wilderness around. Further on, Glengoyne distillery was another wonderful experience. For the first time, I saw the entire process of whisky preparation starting from the barley grains. Learnt the difference between whisky and whiskey and between blended and single malt!! All thanks to our lovely guide at the distillery- a picture perfect one. The tour starts and ends with whisky tasting. This trip was worth every penny- Thanks to Highland tours.
