Know More about this tour

Depart from central Edinburgh by air-conditioned minivan in the morning and pass Linlithgow Palace — the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots — Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument en route to the most dramatic of all Highland glens, Glencoe. Hear the truth about the infamous 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald from your knowledgeable guide, and learn of the area’s fascinating history and heritage.

Journey onward through Fort William, site of the military post built during the Jacobite Rebellions in the 18th century, and continue up the Great Glen between Fort William and Inverness. Take the time to capture the stunning Scottish Highlands scenery from the comfort of your coach as you travel.

Stop at Fort Augustus, by the shores of famous Loch Ness, and enjoy breathtaking views out over the loch. Pause for lunch by the waterside at your own expense, or enjoy a 1-hour boat cruise on the loch to appreciate the beautiful views from the water (not included). The boat has a sonar system, so if Nessie is down there you won’t miss her! Loch cruises run from Easter to the end of October.

Hop back aboard your minivan and continue on through the village of Spean Bridge to the Cairngorms National Park. Take in views of the spectacular Highlands scenery along the shores of Loch Laggan and marvel at Craig Meagaidh, one of the area’s impressive mountains. It is here that TV series Monarch of the Glen was filmed. Continue over the Drummochter Summit — where herds of red deer often graze — and visit the Victorian town of Pitlochry, the final stop for the day.

At the end of your time in Pitlochry, head back by minivan to Edinburgh where your tour will conclude.

  • Nice driver

  • Eric was aGreat driver guide. Very informative and he sang too. 12 hours just too long. Not enough time to get out of the van to walk. Seats of van were uncomfortable

  • Great full day trip in Scotland ,beautiful scenery, seen some highland cows ,the highlands and walked around lochnessdid not go on optional boat tour guide was great.

  • This was our first tour during the Scotland portion of our holiday and it turned into one of our all-time favorite tours. The highlands are extraordinary, which certainly helps, but our guide Liam was top notch. He was highly informative, mixing historical stories with pop-culture references, and he took those extra steps to make the trip memorable. He took the time to get to know everyone on his bus and he made sure that his stories were entertaining for all-ages. From fun photo stops to creative music choices, everything seemed to meld together into an unforgettable trip. This was our first of two trips with Rabbie's and I can confirm that their customer service and attention to detail is exceptional. I would highly recommend not only this tour, but any tour with Rabbie's Tours in Edinburgh.

  • We had a long but really fun day. Our tour guide was great and he kept up the awesome stories the entire day!! The only criticism is the small town where you stop and have the option of the taking the Loch Ness cruise or wander the small town. The town is really nothing with so few shops and restaurants and we ended up simply waiting a while for the cruise folks to return. We were expecting a really cute and quaint town to wander thru but it was quite a disappointment. If it is a nice day, the boat cruise might have been the better alternative. I also wish we had time to visit Sterling Castle rather than simply see it as we drove by it...but, you can't fit everything into the already long day.

  • Despite the rain, this 12 hour trip around Scotland was extremely enjoyable. We saw so much of the country and I was very pleased with the entire day. Our guide Fransiska's storytelling method and variety of music pulled the sites and Scotland's history together in a great way. Almost felt like a camp singalong as she so brilliantly also manouvered the van into and out of traffic and tight spots. Her spirit kept the day bright as the rain came down!! Always have an umbrella with you in Scotland!!

  • Hi Friends the Trip was really good and they are really professionals. The tour guide Julian and Driver Peter were Awesome.

Just don't give a second thought and book it now and do request to have a tour with Julian .... She is the Best for ease I have posted her Photo. She is a Gem and her stories are lovely . I can say she is the Google of Scotland and she does share some beautiful stories that would make your Trip Memorable .

  • This was a great tour- such beautiful scenery through the Highlands. Our driver Eric was very knowledgable and entertaining throughout the day. We enjoyed his musical selections and his wonderful singing voice! There are frequent stops along the way allowing for picture taking, bathroom breaks and stretching your legs. We would highly recommend this tour.

  • We loved every minute of this tour. The guide was outstanding, the sights were gorgeous and the stories of history and culture that we heard were entertaining.

  • Its a lot of time in the car 12 hours and little time actually experiencing the Highlands which was disappointing. Loch Ness is fairly anti-climactic. Just a boat ride out and back, then back into the car for a long ride back to Edinburgh. Not the best use of a day IMO.
