Know More about this tour

At 7:30AM. We will pick you up at your hotel in Ho chi minh city and head to Vung Tau. After more than 2-hour car ride. We will arrive Long Tan.

Long Tan is deeply etched into ANZAC folklore. In the late afternoon of August 18, 1966, D Company, 6 RAR - despite being heavily outnumbered - fought off a large Viet Cong assault of regimental strength during a grueling three-hour battle.

The first stop on this full-day tour is the former site of Australia's Nui Dat Task Force Base (Nui Dat SAS Hill). The occupation of Nui Dat required the removal of all inhabitants from within a 4 kilometer radius of the base, therefore the people of Long Tan and Long Phuoc villages were forcibly resettled. Little remains of this military camp today except the columns of the main gate. The former runway is now a street in the local village, and the old helipad is now a soccer field.

Afterward, drive past the location of Horseshoe FSB (access is not permitted due to the continued presence of land mines) to the Discourtesy Rubber Plantation. Visit the Long Tan Cross Memorial, a focal point for remembrance, before continuing on to the Long Phuoc Tunnels. Like other tunnels systems found in Vietnam the Long Phuoc Tunnels included meeting areas, first aid stations, and fighting pits.

Long Phuoc Tunnels is our last stop in a half-day tour to Long Tan Nui Dat. After a short rest, you will return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Tour ends at your hotel.

I highly recommend this company from the first inquiry to A lady named Lucy and fantastic drivers and guilds. We did two tours with this company one to the chu chi tunnels and Mekong river and the other was to Long Tan. Our Tour guide :Mr. Tuan was an ex Sergeant in the war and was so informative. He stoped and purchased flowers and incense for us to pay our respects at the Memorial Cross at Long Tan. It really made our visit special. We never felt rushed and all of our questions where answered. It was also very affordable

We appreciated the knowledge and experience our guide Tuong provided. He told us many stories and was able to show us photos that demonstrated what it was like during the war. He was a lovely man and we would recommend him to others.

TUAN was our guide. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam war and was able to show us photos he had taken during the war. It was great to have a guide who had first hand knowledge of all of the sites. The Australian Memorial was the highlight for us. Thank you Tuan you gave us a great tour.

Long Tan +Nui Dat SAS hill with historical Tourguide Alex !!! Long Tan is an important part of Australia’s history with Vietnam - a valiant military episode in a war we should not have been involved in. There is a Vietnamese memorial not far from the Australian memorial
