Our tour of Monument Valley was with Joe or Joseph. He was incredible—so knowledgeable of his culture and so willing to share himself with us. We will definitely recommend this company to friends and family.
Wonderful scenarios and very nice guide, competent and very kind. I recommend the tour. We appreciated the possibility to reach points that are not accessible to private cars.
We started off the day by missing our 8am tour - because there was no indication which time zone the tour started (it looked like it was Arizona time. However the hotel receptionist let us use their phone and Viator said we could take the next tour as it was not full! The tour was advertised as 2 and 1/2 hours, but ended up almost 4 hours. There was 1 bathroom break (portable toilet) early in the tour. We saw many things in the restricted area that you could not see on your own. Such as pictographs and a demonstration on weaving (and much more). The vehicle is open air, so if it is cold, dress warm and maybe even a blanket! Well worth the price!
One of the best experiences of my vacation...beautiful beyond words. Mr. Holiday was a wonderful guide...all things Navajo, all things Monument Valley.
We’ve used Viator for excursions in Europe and the USA. In all cases it seemed that we had the best guides and tours available. In this case, it appeared that the guides were lined up at a “taxi stand” and tourists were simply assigned to the next available driver.
Duffy our guide was incredible. Friendly and funny, he made our tour one to remember. We saw amazing sights!
Overall, this guided tour was a better option than driving on your own. The guided tour does access locations not accessible by private cars, and of course, their vehicle handled the rough and dusty roads better. We covered a lot of ground, saw key features, received nice information from our guide. The group we were with comprised on 14 people, and we were the only ones with serious interest in photography. So, the only negative of the tour was that it would have been nice to have stopped at more locations for photography. If we had more time (day trip from Grand Canyon), we would have driven around on our own afterwards. Despite this small concern, we would still recommend this tour. One other issue was the "requirement" to arrive 1.5 hours before the start time. This was not necessary, we checked in, then sat in our car in the lot for over an hour.
I prefer to create my own schedule and tours for day hikes in this type of park, however, we were very pleased that we signed up for the Monument Valley Safari tour of the south valley. This was a terrific addition to our self guided hike on the Wildcat Trail and our drive on the Valley Drive. We did the latter on Day 1 and this Guided Tour the morning of Day 2. Our tour guide, Bobby, gave us a great tour with a lot of Navajo insights and even a short flute concert under one of the arches. If you are wondering if this tour is worth it, it certainly is. There is no better way to get immersed into this beautiful place.
We took our young family and had an amazing time. It was truly spectacular! Well worth the visit. And the kids really enjoyed it.
Guide Bobby is very friendly and very thoughtful. This is a very good tour! Bobby not only showed us the famous sights, but also explained many cultural traditions. The sunset is amazing. We had a great time!
