This was one of the best decisions I made while visiting Hong Kong on a solo trip. Being picked up from the hotel all the way to Macau and back without worrying about a single thing throughout the day. The guide was really good who was passionate about the culture and was constantly providing a lot of information about the region and culture. The lunch was definitely lackluster but I was not really expecting a lot to be honest. All in all, it was a very good experience except the food.

The day started at 7:30am with a pick up from the hotel (remember you passport!) and a quick detour for others. We then were transported to the Ferry terminal in Kowloon for our journey across. The tour guide didn't come through the ferry side of the terminal but made sure we were fully aware of what we needed to do/look out for when we were travelling across to Macau. The ferry trip was quick, about an hour and the seats were comfortable and quite relaxing (similar to a place seat). We went through the passport control at Macau and was then met by our guide for the day - Cisco. Cisco was knowledgeable and fun and able to provide an insight to the local culture and history as well as providing a visit to a casino. First off he took our orders for Portugese natas (custard tarts) that would be provided at one of our stops as the bakery sometimes run out. My wife loves these but she was working so I bought them as a treat for her!. 1st stop - The Venetian casino and hotel - not a normal stop for the tour by all accounts but was to be a treat for us. Having recently been to the Venetian in Las Vegas i was intrigued to see that it was exactly the same and built to the same blue print. We had enough time to go to the 'St Mark's Square' and the 'Grand Hall' for photos. Next a coach trip to see some of the sites - seeing China just across the river showed how close we were. There were some military building which the guide advised are manned and armed to deter anyone wishing to swim across. A view of the Macau tower just as someone was bungee jumping off of it (not for the faint hearted) On to one of the old temples, the A-Ma temple (Buddhist) and the bakery to pick up the natas and some other local products then another temple (Taoist) with a similar history. Lunch was a buffet lunch - which was pleasant. Alcohol at additional expense of required) Off through the town and to St Paul's ruins - facade remains alongside the old castle. A famous sight in Macau and culturally important. A walk showing various areas of the town (all quite busy although Cisco said it was really quiet due to a reduction of tourists recently - HK protests apparently to blame). Some interesting sights along the way with little time to stop and shop. Finally ending up at a hotel which has 88 gold bars in the floor - quite a thing to behold. No time to place any bets (although the blurb said that there was). No real view of the Grand Prix circuit again advertised although we did drive along a small section of the starting grid. I would still rate this as an excellent day out - quite long with some walking amongst crowds. very interesting history and culture. A number of UNESCO sites included. It must be done to see the area at least once. Please note that they do expect a tip in Macau

Fantastic trip with amazing guide, Cisco! From hotel pickup and return, ferry trip, guided bus tour - a very well arranged and balanced tour.

This was a very well organised trip and the tour guide was very informative. This tour I would recommend for adults only as children would be very bored on it as it's mainly a history tour of Macau. We saw the casino's and went inside Venician. We went up the tower and the view was spectacular. We then walked around and saw many sights. When we arrived the customs hall was empty due to not many people visiting from hong kong. This has really affected Macau and many souvenir shops had closed down. All in all a very interesting and information tour of Macau.

This time we had our adult children with us - there were 5 of us. We were bored witless by the tour guide Mario, continuously talking about himself, his 2 pensions etc etc. We went to see the sights. He would instruct the driver to pull up, we would all out get out, gather round, got a few facts, then more repeats of what he'd previously told us, over and over again. We stopped for a buffet lunch at a hotel, discovered that the lunch had already been "got at" by the previous tour, run out of bread after a few of our group were able to get some. When we pulled up at a Shrine, we were told we must buy Portuguese Egg Tarts from a specific baker, then stopped again outside a store where we "must" buy souveneirs there - is that proper?. Then said we had a 40 minute walk - well my husband is disabled and could not walk 40 metres never mind 40 minutes. Told him this and he said we could stay in the bus and be dropped off at the pickup point for the rest of the group. We didn't see the St Paul's Cathedral which was one of the highlights. When everyone back in the bus he passed around a bag for "Contributions" to him and the driver. Don't they get paid? We had already paid for the trip, and while we did pay-up, I resented it as the trip was not a successful one.
