Know More about this tour

Meet your guide near Buen Retiro Park (Parque del Buen Retiro), one of Madrids largest public parks.
Head inside to explore the tree-lined avenues, lake and ornamental gardens. Absorb the relaxing atmosphere, and hear how the park was created by King Philip IV in the 1700s before opening to the public in 1868.
Admire the manicured French-inspired Parterre Garden, and stroll around the artificial lake to the Monument to Alfonso XII and Crystal Palace (Palacio de cristal).
Pass Madrids oldest tree, a 400-year-old conifer used as a cannon mount by French troops during the Napoleonic Wars; and trace the shady avenues to attractions including the Statue of the Fallen Angel, the Galpagos Fountain and San Jeronimos Church, where King Juan Carlos was crowned in 1975.
After around 1.5 hours, arrive at The prado museum, next to the park. Hear about its must-see artworks, leave your guide, and use your skip-the-line ticket to gain fast-track entry. Spend however long you wish exploring the galleries to see masterpieces such as Velazquezs Las Meninas and Goyas The Family of Carlos IV, as well as works by El Greco, Titian and other greats.
Your experience ends when you leave the Prado.

Anyone could have explored the park itself. However, with a guide, it becomes more interesting as stories were told and we were brought to highlights.Sunnny weather during our trip and as my mom and I were the only ones, It was like a private tour. The guide was very knowledgeble, patient, and curious about different cultures and beliefs. After the lovely stroll in the park, she brought us to the museum, passed us the tickets, and recommended must-see exhibitions. We were very grateful for the recommendations as we have a limited time of 4 hours for the visit before catching the train to Barcelona. A relaxing trip i must say :

Great tour especially thanks to our guide Luis David. Apart from his great knowledge in history, he also provided very interesting stories and legends about Retiro. No rush, pleasant pace. Being this week El Bosco exposition in Prado, skip the line was great advantage.

We had a very good time with this tour. We were late for the appointed time, since our son threw up just before we were going to lead from a hotel. But the guide was waiting for us. We felt his love of the city.

We enjoyed this tour so very much. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and fun and really made the day worth while. We enjoyed NOT having a guide in the actual museum. Everyone enjoyed looking at different art pieces and liked that we were not rushed or in a group setting. We used Viator for many of our tours in Spain and will recommend them to anyone taking this trip.
