Fernando is a very entertaining professional chef who enjoys introducing tourists to authentic Spanish cuisine. We made (hands on!) potato omelette, a salad with oranges and cod and paella during the class. The chef demonstrated preparation of sangria and apples in caramel sauce. A great experience for novice and expert cooks. Classroom is located in a market building. The 3-hour class begins with a tour of a few stalls where we learned about the local ham, seafood, meats and poultry.

The best paella I had the entire time in Spain! It was perfecta and we had opportunity to purchase the supplies we used in the class! The sangria was AMAZING!!!

One of the highlights of our trip! Fernando, our chef, was a wonderful host. We really enjoyed the market tour, and some of the fruiterias graciously allowed us to try the fresh fruits. The cooking lesson was a great addition to our time in Spain, with just the right amount of teaching and involvement. Having previously lived in Spain, the lesson offered tricks to teach us how to prepare entree's which touch our hearts. I would highly recommend this tour to novice cooks or foodies!

This tour was amazing!

The chef Fernando taught us the traditional way to do things. So many details you cannot get in a recipe or video. Plus immediate feed back. Chef would be proud of the tortilla I made when I got home.

This was one of the best experience we had in Spain. Everyone should take a cooking class and if you are going to Madrid this is the best one you could choose. We made the best chicken Paella. This chef was excellent. He taught us so much in the 4 hours. After everything was made we all sat and ate the best food and drank the best Sangria I ever tasted. The kitchen was spotless.
We were taken around a beautiful market. He talked about everything. It was the first time I had ever seen or used saffron.
I actually came home with saffron, smoked paprika and the paella pan. Soy Chef, thank you for the wonderful experience: -
This was a great experience. It was the high point of a wonderful vacation in Spain and Portugal. The instructors were excellent and we made some very tasty dishes. Highly recommended!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this cooking experience. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and we were the only people who registered for that slot which meant we essentially had a private cooking class with an excellent chef! The class was on the second floor of the market. Once we arrived, the chef took us around the market to give us tips on selecting quality ingredients e.g., ham, saffron. Then we washed up, put on our aprons, and got started. We received plenty of cooking tips and learned a few new cooking techniques. It's definitely a hands on class. We made sangria, tortilla, a cod/citrus salad, paella and a dessert with caramelized bananas. Since it was only the two of us, we had plenty to eat since the ingredients were enough to feed several more. The food was delicious and the chef was patient and informative. We were emailed the recipes after the class. This was a great experience - and we didn't have to do any dishes!
