Very disappointed, maybe we were spoilt on a different trip from our hotel to Dolphin House, the staff, boat and food were excellent 5 star review, this trip was all but.
Firstly I would like to say our guide was a nice chap and we were the only 2 booked with him.
On arrival and equipment sorted, given 1 bottle of water this is important as its the last cold water available until you go for lunch on the island, then it is warm water not explained. The first stop very good loads of fish to see, the second not so good in fact very poor, the reef we were taken to was dead and there was nothing to see. Then Paradise Island, yes beautiful, shallow waters not a lot of fish but relaxing, until lunch. There was our boat and 1 other altogether but on ours an Egyptian family of 16 who proceeded to ignore all formalities and take all the food, arguments occurred at the restaurant between Europeans and the Egyptian family. Lets say we ended up with no salad under cooked fish 1 cup of coke and warm water A lot of unhappy tourists. By this time we just wanted to get back to port.
The staff of our boat seemed more interested in the females and not interested with the other tourist.
Do it again absolutely not the boat was poor and the crew poor, my wifes foot sunk in to the floor of the upper decking, boat needs overhaul.
On chatting with other Europeans they had paid 15.00 per person for this trip which cost us around 55.00 per person, very disappointed. It is not like as advertised !!! -
Excellent boat trip and beautiful sport. The tour operator is by far the best company in Hurghada. It is a bit pricey but it is worth the extra spending : food, security, hygiene, classy boat - different from the cheaper cruises you may found where the crews are usually loud and pushy (for selling unwanted DVDs).

Positives:
Excellent on the vegetarian information chain. EVERYONE knew about the requirement which was an achievement given the number of people involved in the communication chain.
Pick-up and collection. Very good. It was also excellent that the guide did not go with us on the 'cruise' as it was both unnecessary and would have invaded personal space.
Mahyar.
A slick organisation ideally partnered for this type of day trip.
Negatives.
The sequencing of events gave a rushed and 'tourist processing' feel to the day. For groups wanting to snorkel it would have been better for them to go directly to the area and to be briefed and equipped en route, that way more time snorkelling on the reefs. This was the way they did it in the Caribbean.
The reef was damaged from tourists standing on it etc. The marine park authorities and tour operators didn't supervise the swimmers so, unsurprisingly, other groups (not Mahyar) were seen standing on the reef.
On balance I wouldn't pay for a trip like this in Egypt again, but this is not a criticism of Viator organisation.

A picturesque location, but very crowded I counted 70 boats in the area. Go now before the reef is ruined. The meal on the island is good, but drinks pricey. Watch out for the sand flies as you can end up with a lot of bites.
