Know More about this tour

Leave the Port of Malaga, and then travel by luxury minivan to the Alhambra palace complex in the city of Granada, roughly 2 hours away. Perched high up on La Sabica Hill, Alhambra is a fortress, palace and ancient city, all rolled into one. Built around the 10th century, the complex has been home to a succession of sultans, kings and emirs, who each gave the site its diverse heritage. Today, the landmark is recognized as one of Spains most important UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Head past the Alhambras long entrance lines with your skip-the-line ticket, and start with a look at the oldest part of the complex, Alcazaba Fortress with its myriad of ramparts and towers. Gaze out at the city of Granada from the fortress walls and explore its walkways with your guide.

Continue to the Nasrid Palaces, a set of magnificent Moorish buildings that youll admire in all their glory. Comprising of three different buildings, the palaces each boast elaborate function rooms and opulent Islamic art. Look out at the sky from the windows of Mexuar Palace and learn of the extravagant lives of the emirs and sultans who once lived here.

From the Nasrid Palaces, stroll outside to Generalife Gardens to check out where the Moorish kings of bygone days once relaxed. Featuring abundant flora and distinctive water features, the gardens also comprise two further courtyards, which youll see, the Patio de la Acequia and the Patio de la Sultana.

After 3 hours enjoying the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, return to your minivan for the journey back to Malaga. Your shore excursion finishes with a drop-off at the port.

Please note: the order of this tour is subject to change and certain sights may be visited in a different order, depending on how busy the Alhambra is on the day of your tour.

Picked up on time by a friendly and knowledgeable driver and had a pleasant comfortable and scenic ride from Malaga to Granada about 1.5 hrs. Once at the Alhambra, the driver handed us off to a guide that took us through the Alhambra and provided an informative and interesting narration as we went through. All participants on the tour had an individual headset so we could hear the guide without having to be standing within 5 feet of him, which made the tour all the more comfortable. After a very thorough and complete tour of about 3 house we were given some time to eat or shop on our own before meeting the driver for the return trip to Malaga. All very well organized and seamless. Probably one of the best tours Ive ever been on.

Excellent service! A beautiful experience! I will not hesitate to use Viator again in the future.

The drive there was fine, he drove fast but not dangerous. He didn't speak English so couldn't ask him any questions about the surroundings.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but we had problems hearing him a lot and he didn't seemed concerned that we couldn't hear him. He also never ask us if we had any questions which I thought was unusual. Palaces are really neat to tour, there is a lot of history in there!

Alhambra is an amazing place and well-worth a visit. Unfortunately, the later pickup time from our cruise ship meant that our visit was too rushed. When we arrived at our destination there was considerable confusion and after an almost one hour delay, our tour started. Apparently there was no tour guide for us. Our tour, which was supposed to be an English only tour, ended up being attached to a German speaking group consequently delivered in both English and German. Although our tour guide was knowledgeable, he was obviously not pleased with the situation and displayed a very questionable attitude. The experience did not warrant the high cost of the trip.
The bus driver, for the almost 4 hour round trip from Malaga to Alhambra, was, however, very professional and helpful.

We had arranged for a group of 12 people to take this tour. There was some confusion on the pickup time and therefore we ending waiting for an hour for the driver to arrive. This was our fault and not the tour driver. The driver was very courteous but spoke little english. When we arrived at the Alhambra we were added to a group of people from Germany which meant we had to listen to everything in german and english. This caused much dismay and delay for our group as we stood around and waited for english. The guide at Alhambra was very rude and condescending to our group. We had one person with a wheel chair who got left behind and the guide didn't even know he was missing. The missing person had been asked to wait at a designated spot, which he did but the guide did not return for him. When he was finally found the guide told our friend this tour is not meant for old people. He was only 57 years old.
We did enjoy seeing Alhambra but it would have been much better with our own guide and not being put in with other group.

We were a private party of 12 persons. The driver of the private van was courteous but limited in English. At the Alhambra and GeneralLife and Gardens tour, we were shuffled in with a larger tour from Germany and were almost forgotten. Because of the 2 translations, the tour took longer than anticipated. Excellent guide. For the cost and length of this tour we thought a snack and drink should have been included.
The driver was prompt and reliable in getting us back to the ship on time.

Our guide was so good. We spent several hours in the Alhambra. He was very knowledgeable. He took great care to translate into English for us. We really appreciated the care taken by the company to get us from the ship in Malaga to Granada in time for the tour in the afternoon. Everyone was friendly

Good tour, but the guide on the bus Maria? did not talk at ALL on the bus to tell us about the sights, etc. Simply said when you get to the Alhambra the Guide will tell you about it!! I would not rate her highly at all not would anyone else on the bus....but, the arrangements and transportation were good! barbara

The driver did not speak English. He was a good driver - but fast. Didn't have much time in town even though we had time before we needed to return to the ship. He did take us up to a high point for a photo op.
The guide at the Alhambra and Garden was very good. Liked his pacing. Very informative.

We did have a problem connecting with the start of the tour. Evidently we were the only ones on it from the port. Once we got on our way, it was a good tour. The guide was quite good. She had to do it first in Spanish and then English and 2 of us each spoke those languages. It was far better than the tour offered thru the ship was.
