Know More about this tour

We will depart from your hotel at 8:30am after breakfast. First, we will go to Mahamuni Buddha, a spectacular and attractive statue of Lord Buddha, completely made of Gold. As one of the most significant sites of Buddhist pilgrimage in Myanmar, it is a place of devotion and meditation. Women are not allowed to enter the innermost chamber (and consequently, to apply gold leaves on the statue).

Next, you will visit to a stone carving workshops and see a skilled craftsmen who attack pure white marble or stone with angle grinders and drills to create the most enigmatic Buddha images. From here, we will move on to the puppet workshop and wood carving. Since the gold-leaf is commonly use in Myanmar, it is fascinating to see the traditional way of gold-leaf is produced at Gold Leaf Workshop.

You will then enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant with variety of traditional food. A short free and easy time after lunch.

After a short break, we will move on to Mandalay royal palace followed by Golden Palace Monastery (Shwenandaw Monastery). The Monastery is small and atmospheric and was moved from the old Royal Palace grounds. It gave an idea of what the inside of the old Palace would have looked like in entirety originally and the beauty of the wood cravings from the glory period if Mandalay.

Finally, we will explore Kuthodaw Pagoda (the worlds largest book), is a lovely place to visit and really interesting for the history and cultural facts. It's a great place to walk around and soak up the sights and experience of this beautiful place. Before heading back to your hotel, you will enjoy the sun setting at the top of Mandalay Hill.

Another good tour covering a wide variety of sites. Although you start by visiting the gold, marble and wood carving shops, the remainder of stops are all worthwhile and unique places. Lots of good photo opportunities. Winny our guide did a great job.

Claire and her driver helped us maximize our limited time in Mandalay and knew the perfect time to be everywhere and dineverdo eve. We really appreciated the flexibility and helped us get a few things we were looking for.

An excellent tour that covered all the bases and even allowed extra time for places we wanted to spend time in.

Informative. Friendly. On time pick up. Couldn't ask for more

Having traveled to over 20 countries in the last year and taking numerous tours, this one was my favorite so far. Claire was an AMAZING tour guide, and she made the experience for my fiance and I. She is incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable of pretty much all of Myanmar's history, always looks out for your best interest, and is beyond patient and kind. If you take this tour, ask for Claire- she will create a memorable experience for you in this beautiful country. Thank you so much again. I will highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the amazing sites of Myanmar and go off the beaten track with an amazing tour guide. Thank you again for an incredible experience Claire! You are a huge asset and honorable person to your beautiful country!

Our guide had that wonderful combination of knowledge and friendliness coupled with abundant humour and a capacity of answering endless questions. His stories about the temples and palaces so many! brought history alive for my sister and me. We loved the street of marble carvers. The sunset from the top of Mandalay Hill was a wonderful way to end a full day of sightseeing.

The people of Myanmar ask that tourists go barefoot in the temples and cover their arms and knees. Take water and sunscreen along.

Our tour guide Jimmy Sein is the BEST tour guide we have ever had! He is a human encyclopedia on Myanmar history, he made the the tour so interesting and fun. He also went above and beyond, taking us to an amazing jade shop that locals frequent. If you hire this tour you should definetly ask for him

Highly recommended for the traveler with limited time. Our tour guide, Sakhar Khaing and driver were extremely knowledgeable of the territory and allowed us to see many of the sites that we would not have been able to do on our own given the limited duration we had in Mandalay. Nice courteous driver in an air conditioned car. We paid a little bit extra to include a tour to the U-Bein bridge and it was so worth it. We were blessed by the beautiful weather and the Supermoon. Fantastic pics and memories to show.

We decided at short notice to travel from Bangkok for 7 nights in Myanmar. We booked a day trip thru Viator which was the first time we used this service and they engaged LM Travel to provide a guide and driver for the day we arrived and they did a terrific job of showing us all the highlights of Mandalay. Beyond this our guide Mr Tun and Mr Lin in the LM Travel office arranged a Day Boat to Bagan next day and a transfer to the boat jetty at 6.30 am the next morning. This was so successful in Bagan we arranged another guide and driver which again went well even after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake on the day we arrived in Bagan.

LM then arranged a pick up at Yangon Airport and a 3/4 day tour for our last day and a 4am transfer to the airport for first flight out to Bangkok

Very well done and definitely 5 Star
