Amazing experience. Yamil and Simon were great guides, friendly, charismatic and very knowledgeable. We were on our to the forest and they got us some fresh fruits from local market that were delicious, they also prepared us for the environment, and covered us with mosquito repellent. The cocoa farm part was also great, we participated in the process of making the chocolate and they took photos and videos for us. The whole tour is highly recommended.

Higly recommended tour. I participated with a group of friends, we really enjoyed the experience. All the guides are really knowledgeable and happy to respond to all questions and doubts. We spotted many animals and the tour at the cocoa farm was simply amazing. We learned a lot about the process and everyones was really nice. The food was also great! Really nice experience!!

Amazing experience. From the start Yamil was great and our guide Simon was a treat. 10/10 recommended. We had a great time at the CaCao plantation. The day was full, the lunch was so delicious. We really enjoyed it with my mom (67) and daughter (10), it’s fun for all ages.

Yamil, Simon and the other guides were excellent. We went to a nature preserve, hiked up a river bed and a steep path to see monkeys, tiny singing frogs, and other wild life. After the hike we were driven to a cacao farm where we were treated to delicious chocolate and other cacao products in addition to seeing it being grown and learning about the process of roasting the cacao beans. The itinerary changed a bit because of the road closing due to the political unrest. The guides were professional, personable and informative. We felt safe at all times and had an excellent adventure.

Yamil and his team were right on time to pick us up, and we’re incredibly friendly and full of information. We could not have asked for better guides! On the way to Churute we stopped at a rice production facility and a local fruit stand. (The fruit was delicious!) then we went to Churute. Got to see many families of monkeys, on a beautiful walk. The lunch we had at the Cacao plantation was fantastic! The farm tour and cocoa making process was so interesting, and I learned a lot. Being able to taste the cacao fruit, then the raw beans, roasted beans, and all step to the final process was really cool! This tour was absolutely a highlight of our stay in Guayaquil!

This was an excellent day trip from Guayaquil. Our guides, Simon and Yamil, were friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone at the farm was eager to share their knowledge about cacao farming and the local plants. Lots of delicious fruits to sample in addition to the chocolate. Lunch was also very good. During the forest part of the tour, we saw a troop of howler monkeys almost immediately.

We had and incredible day today with Yamil and his team! Yamil picked us up at our hotel and we drove out to the Churute Forest. The conversation on the ride out was very helpful discussing the history of Guayaquil, Ecuador, and the things we were seeing on the drive. Definitely a bonus to the tour! The hike through the forest was a fun experience. There we some mosquitos, but Yamil provided us with insect repellent and that worked great. When walking through the forest, you could hear the Howler Monkeys up ahead. Then we saw a family of monkeys quietly watching us from the trees. We got some gray pictures and continued on the hike. We came across another group of monkeys later on as well. We saw a lot of birds and had a great hike! Afterwards we headed to an organic farm, Finca Cumandá, to learn more about the cacao fruit and harvesting process. We started out with the best tasting banana I have ever had, grown onsite an learned about how they created hybrid trees and the differences between the Cacao Nacional and the Cacao Hybrid. During the tour we tasted cherries, cacao fruit, avocados, star fruit, black pepper, cashew fruit, various plants and spices and a few things that were excellent but I can’t remember what they were. To be able to taste the organic items grown right there, learn about them and see the process up close was a lot of fun and we learned a lot. After the tour, we had an authentic Ecuadorian lunch which was really good and cooked by the owners of the farm. We then saw the process of turning cacao beans/seeds into chocolate and we were able to participate in each step of the process. Again we learned a lot and had fun! We were able to taste the different percentages of cacao powders (60%, 70% and 100% cacao). It was all very good! It was so good that we bought some finished chocolate and even got some Cacao and Jamaican Flower beers for later. It was a very full day of activities that was a great experience on many levels. The combination of the Churute Forests and he Cacao Farm was a great combination and one I would highly recommend doing in Guayaquil. Yamil and his team took great care of us and went above and beyond with all aspects. At the end of the day, Yamil dropped us off at our hotel. Such a great day! Highly recommended! Thank you Yamil!

Although the tour agency was concerned about our young child and mosquitos, we had only one bite ( when she took off mask) with spray and clothing coverage. She loved seeing the howler monkeys and the chocolate tour. We all had a wonderful time and Simon was an excellent guide. Unforgettable experience!
