I learned a great deal about my cameras abilities that I was not using! And the use of angles as well as boring space elimination!

We booked the tour for my younger son Max who's an amateur photographer. My older son and I joined without cameras. All three of us have enjoyed this tour and have learned a lot. Robert is a great photographer and teacher. Max has learned quite a few new techniques and methods for photographing. My older son and I were also able to appreciate the architecture in NYC through photographer's lens. Robert was very patiently guiding each student on their own level, while also caring for us non-photographers in the group. We will definitely come back to NYC for another tour with Robert, probably Central Park. Highly recommend!

Did a custom photo tour with Zim that was roughly this itinerary on a day when it wasn't available. Zim was great. She is a very experienced photographer and accomplished instructor. In particular, she listened to what photography challenges we were facing, asked some great questions, and got right into helping us improve. I was looking for help with composition and finding compelling images to create while walking around. Zim typically would have me take a shot the way I was inclined to do it and then would show various alternatives, sometimes with just a suggestion and sometimes by actually photographing. In any case, she did quick critiques of all images and was really spot on with what I was looking for an how to improve. I take a lot of online classes and I like them, but working with an accomplished instructure directly is a great accompaniment to what you can learn in a class or on your own. I'm looking forward to doing another session with Zim elsewhere in the city.

Zim was a great instructor. She is very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of pointers to improve composition. She also demonstrated a variety of ways to enhance my images by using and explaining various features on my camera. I am an intermediate photographer and felt Zim's suggestions definitely added to my skill set. Highly recommend!

On my Manhattan Photo Safari, Zim my instructor was fun - we had a few laughs at me being a greedy photographer, knowledgeable - shared tips on using my camera in auto mode, friendly - shared a tip to calm down anxious New Yorkers. It was a learning and fun experience. Highly recommended for tourists and residents a like.

Learned a lot about composition and was able to take some great pictures Zim is very knowledgeable and helpful in giving pointers to improve my photographs

Jim is a fun and dynamic teacher with excellent photography skills and experience. She was very patient and attentive to me even though I am a novice. It's a great way to get to know NYC!!

I got this tour for a family member and I as she was visiting New York. This was a great way to enjoy NYC and also learn a lot about photography! We took many memorable photos, and had a great experience. It is definitely something to try if you would like something new to experience in the city!

This was my second time tour with Zim during the last 6 months. I got lucky again as other people did not show up, so it was a private tour again. I asked her to dedicate this one to wide angle lens use. I learned more then from any books or Internet sites. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to learn and improve photography skills in terms of composition and camera settings.

I live in New York and I recently took this photo safari to learn more about photography and my camera. I gained new photographic skills but I also learned to see my city differently. I can’t think of a more unique way to spend an afternoon that is fun, educational, and helps you take better pictures. New Yorkers should do it. When your friends come to town, you should have them do it. We all love taking pictures. Up your game and take even better ones or help your friends to do the same.
