Know More about this tour

Manuel Antonio National Park is considered one of the most beautiful areas in Costa Rica. It features a beach of crystal-clear waters with coral reefs and is bordered by exuberant tropical vegetation and rainforests. Its beaches are considered among the best in the country, with great snorkeling and the surfing spots.

Enjoy a drive along the Pacific coastline and enjoy scenic views on the way to Manuel Antonio National Park. Travel past photogenic villages along the coast until you reach the port of Quepos and the park.

Since the park is closed to vehicles, you can hike to the preserve. Relax and enjoy the beach, sunbathe or join a nature walk along the trails and observe the park's abundant flora and fauna. Spot monkeys, iguanas, birds and possibly even the famous three-toed sloth! Hike up toward Cathedral Point to enjoy spectacular views of the park and Pacific.

I enjoyed the beautiful beach at the national park but the tour was 12 hours long and we were at the beach for only 3 of those hours and the rest of the time was spent mainly on the bus. There was not much education on Costa Rica or about the national park during the tour. The breakfast was good but the lunch was not.

Over 10 hours in the tour bus to enjoy 4 hours at the park, I would not recommend this activity if leaving from San Jose. The meals included were average, the tour guide was not pleasant, she refused to respond to very basic questions, she treated the group like preschoolers.

Great tour and very fun! The tour guide Arlene was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Breakfast and lunch was excellent. I recommend bringing bug spray since you will be hiking in the park. The hike is an easy walk. I did the hiking walk with Arlene and other tourists and she helped to point out monkeys and sloths. I got some great photos of the monkeys. I also saw deer on the hike. Bottled water, a sandwich, and apple was provided to us when we arrived at the park. You will need the extra food for energy because it is hot during the hike before lunch. Great scenery along the route to the park. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a SUPER day trip with our guide Alex. It is a very long day ...7am till close to 9pm but packs in so much. The tour starts and finishes with hotel pick up/drop off in San Jose. A straight drive to Arnel Volcano would be 3 to 4 hours but we did a variety of things on the way to break up the journey and make it very interesting. We visited a coffee plantation, stopped for a mid morning snack and to see birds close up, saw a variety of waterfalls and a nice lunch. We choose to do zipp lining which lasted 1.5 hours and had 9 lines through the rain forest..... our first time doing this and not to be missed. We finished with about 1.5 hours at a hot spring. Then it was the long drive back to San Jose with a stop for dinner on the way.

Our tour guide and our driver were so nice and informative. The sights were beautiful and we saw so many sloths and monkeys! Overall an awesome time. Highly recommend!

The Day Trip is a very long day, due to travel times between San Jose and Manuel Antonio, so be prepared for 12 hours or so, but only spend 3 hours at the park. Lunch took longer than it should have, so disappointed in the restaurant and service. Our driver, Alejandro, was a champ and worked hard to keep all pleased and entertained.

The only hard part for me was finding the nearest major hotel to be picked up from, but once I got there it was pura vida all day!
We stopped for a pleasant breakfast (gallo pinto, scrambled eggs, toast with cheese, fresh fruit, sausage, plantains, coffee, and fruit juice), and looked at the iguanas wandering around. We walked over the crocodile bridge and saw about 7 saltwater crocodiles basking in the sun. We stopped to look at souvenirs (I had bought the same things the previous day at the San Jose Artisans' Market for much cheaper). When we got to the national park, we were given a little mini lunch (ham and cheese sandwich, apple, and a bottle of water). We were then given about 3 hours to explore the national park, and told where to meet after that. Our guide went in with us, walked us to the beach, talked about a few different trails, and then let us wander. I saw howler monkeys, capuchins, coati, agouti, a few types of crab, a vulture, and lots of iguanas. I took the Cathedral Trail, which is a little loop made up almost entirely of very steep steps. I had time after that to walk along the beach and get my feet wet (it's a beautiful beach, and perfect for swimming), then to dry off and walk back, and I still had time to browse the souvenir stands outside the park and walk along the main street for a while.
We were given a few choices for dinner: I ordered the paella, which was delicious and filling, with lots of seafood in it. It came with fries and vegetables, soup, and a little ice cream cake sandwich thing for dessert. Drinks are also included. After that we drove back to San Jose (with one bathroom break), and were dropped off at our hotels again. I had been looking forward to this since I got to Costa Rica, and I wasn't disappointed!

The tour guide Eric was very knowledgeable, and repeated everything in both English and Spanish. The driver Aaron was safe and friendly.

Manuel Antonio is a huge natural park. The walk from the entrance to the beach takes approximately 30 minutes, and one is face to face with nature at every step.

Go prepared to meet monkeys, deer, and an immense variety of plants, exotic flowers and insects. It is so worth it. The beach is beautiful. It is NOT the white sand beach without waves that it seems, but it is nice enough to spend a happy day in contact with nature.

The tour organizer was on time, the bus although small had enough space for everyone. The guide was very pleasant and provided us with many details along the way.

The tour starts at 6 am and we were back around 8:30 pm. Take this detail into account if you travel with small children.

Worth it. The tour operator has everything planned, I recommend it.
