The tour company provided good service and the pick-up and drop off were lead by a friendly driver. I give them 5 stars for service. The museum was 1 star and not worth a visit unless you have children or have never learned about human evolution. There are no fossils here. I feel the tour could have been discounted since the caves were closed ( we were informed of this in advance) or a substitute added. Overall, this did not meet my expectations.

Solly picked us up. He was knowledgeable and gave us some info driving us to the museum. The tour was mostly self directed onsite. The local guide did not say much. We also did the Sowet/apartheid museum o tour with Solly the day before. He allowed me to pay on the date of the Soweto/apartheid tour because I was not sure if my plane would arrive in time for the tour. So I did not want to book until I arrived at Jo'burg. I called him in the morning and he picked us up at 1:30PM, we then joined the people who were doing the full day tour (while ours was only half day). Solly is very flexible to accommodate his clients. The restaurant onsite was open but the menu was limited because tourists were not fully back yet. so the restaurant limited its options. BTW: the ATM at the museum site was not working when I was there.

The Cradle of Humankind was an exceptional experience! It was both educational and thought-provoking. Our guide had a good command of English, was outgoing and informative, and adapted to our special requests. I'd recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit Johannesburg.

We originally only booked a half-day tour for the Cradle of Humankind, but as we finished early, our tour guide Nathi took us on a Soweto tour in the afternoon which we really enjoyed. We had a fantastic last day in South Africa.

This was better than expected. You would need a couple of days to remember and read everything. Sooo interesting. A pity some of the audio did not walk. Highlight was the boat ride from the ice age to the present. Loved it

Fascinating destination. Seeing the fossils part is only one part of the exhibition, so much information about the development of humankind found in the lower levels. There's also a water ride to enjoy, bringing air, earth, fire and water together. The guide was punctual and kept us entertained on the drive there and back.

Our driver was very kind, and he answered all of my questions, which I appreciated, but the description of this trip is misleading. It was basically a driver. The tour of the Cradle was just the one that came with entrance tickets.

Great trip out to Maropeng to see the Cradle of Humankind - this is a fascinating archaeological site. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about South Africa and the site as we travelled! Unfortunately the caves were closed due to weather, but the museum experience is still well worth it.

The tour guide was very friendly and made the experience better however, I would not recommend going out of your way to visit the site in general especially if you are limited on time. The cradle do humankind is a marketing gimmick and the museum did not offer much. The museum was lacking compared to our expectations and the journey out there take s a couple hours.

A nice way to spend a day in the area and learn about some of the history. The caves were unfortunately closed when I went but the museum was still nice. Solly was an excellent tour guide. If I would've had more time I would do other tours with him.
