Communication with the tour operator was not very good. While in the cab the address was texted to me. When we arrived the wasn't even a welcome. Throughout the entire tour the operator/guide never told us his name. The first half of the tour went ok, even though it was promoted as a "small group" tour, and there were 11 bikes and one guide. Four people were late and went with the second guide. One of the bikes being ridden by another participant had a broken chain/derailleur and the guide tried to repair it so he gave directions on where we were suppose to go to another participant and sent us on our way. He did return to where we were but had not fixed the bike. He decided that he would need to "tow" the bike back to the shop. He led us to a park and said he would be back in 20-30 minutes. From this point we went up into the hills, which was a lovely ride. On the down hill portion is where everything went bad. My wife was riding her bike down the slope and the bike in front of her was going very slow. So slow that my wife could not maintain her balance and she went down on rocks and gravel. Her knee was cut up and bleeding and her arm was sore. The guide was further down the trail and one of the other riders had to go and get him. When the he returned he looked at her knee, she was sitting in the shade under a tree, and realized that she needed first aid. He, the guide, did not have a first aid kit with him so he called ahead for the second guide, with 4 bikes, could give him the kit or return to help. About 15 minutes later the second guide returned and administered minimal first aid. He looked at the wounds and said there was no dirt or gravel in the wound, sprayed it with a spray and bandaged it. He then gave us directions on where to go to meet up with his group at the bottom of the hill. He then left and my wife and I headed down the hill by ourselves. We walked our bikes down hill until we felt is was safe for my wife to ride. We did meet back up with the second guide and rode back to the shop with the smaller group. When we got back to the cruise ship we went to the medical clinic to have the wounds looked at. The doctor on board x-rayed her arm and determined that it was a sprain. The nurse cleaned the wound and asked who cleaned it. They, the doctor and nurse were concerned about infection because of the amount of dirt and rocks that they literally scrubbed out of the wounds. The cost of this tour has greatly increased due to the medical bills on the ship and at home. In all good faith I CANNOT recommend this tour or tour operator to anyone.

Nicholas was great! He picked us up at the cruise port and drove us to the bike shop where we saddled up and took us and another couple on the National Park Tour. WAYYYYYY better than the Urban bike tour. Our three hour bike tour took us to some amazing places with amazing views of the coast of Marseille. I'm not an avid biker, but the E-bike made me like Wonder-Woman. I was climbing hills like a champ and LOVED it!!! Nicholas then took us to Old Town Marseille and dropped us there so we could explore the area before heading to our ship. MUST do this excursion if you are in Marseille.

We had a electric bike tour of Marseille 2 years before which was very good. The bikes on this tour were not as good. The leaders bike chain broke twice and and one of the riders chain came off. You had to put a lot more effort into the pedaling as the bikes were quite old.

I found this tour a little scary, immediately we launched into city traffic without much introduction to the bikes. If you are an adventurous cyclist who doesn't mind crazy rush hour traffic then it is fine.

Just fantastic. Would recommend for experience riders however who are used to city traffic. There is a good climb up to the church so you do needs some riding fitness even though it's assisted. You also have to be very aware of the direction that traffic is coming from. If you are used to driving and riding a bike on the right hand side of the road this will not worry you but being from Australia where we drive and ride on the left hand side of the road it was something we had to remain switched on for. Traffic wasn't too bad as it was the winter time but in the summer when it's much busier you would need your wits about you. That being said local drivers did appear to be used to tours of bike riders so were pretty good to us. Our guide was fabulous picking us up from the cruise port. He then took us through instruction in how to ride the electric bikes, provided helmets and the route we took was really good. So much to see and we absolutely loved it.
