This wine tour from Wellington Railway station return was excellent. Very well organised and Naoime was a very good host, driver and tour leader.
Fantastic wines and other foods, all of which are sourced from local agriculture products, the tour guide Naomi is a very warm-hearted and enthusiastic lady who care about her customers just like her family members.
Amazing day. Naomi was such a fun guide. The smaller wineries were inviting and informative. All the food was incredible. Definitely worth the money!
Had a wonderful day with Naomi. Caught the train from Wellington and met Naomi at the designated station. Advice to get a printout as at the station they want a photocopy before giving you the ticket. Train ride was good. Sit on the RHS of the train for the views going to the designated stop. Went to 4 wineries and had a good chance to taste at each one. Lunch was superb at the café area. If you do want to buy the wines, best to buy at the wineries itself compared to others as MUCH cheaper unless you are shipping back home. Will do this tour again if get the chance to be in Wellington
The train ride, the wine tastings at four wineries, the lunch, which also included a glass of wine, and the tea in the afternoon were all very good.
Had a fantastic day out with Heather showing us the sights of Martinborough with some great history mixed in with fantastic vineyards and a superb lunch. Highly reccomended
The woman driving us was excellent, the food was good, and the wines were interesting. It was a bit disappointing, however, that we met the winemaker in only one of the four vineyards. Personally I would have prefered to rather visit more of the smaller vineyards where it could be possible to talk to the winemaker, and get to know more about their winemaking principles and considerations. Five stars to the Julicher vineyard where we met an engaged winemaker, and tasted wines that stood out from the average!
One of the best wine tours I've been on. Our guide was friendly, well versed in the local area and the different wines made, and had great relationships with the vineyards. The lunch was delicious, the train trip was incredibly scenic, and the bus comfortable. Would highly recommend this tour!
Excellent tour - very well organised. We visited four very good vineyards, tasting 5 quality wines in each one, with highly informative commentary by the local winemakers or their staff. The tour guide was first rate - very friendly and knowledgeable about the region, its history and the vineyards we visited. The tour was topped off with a lovely afternoon tea consisting of platter of local cheeses and a generous glass of a quality local wine. All in all a wonderful day.
I would have never guessed NZ has a wine country, but wow! Took an amazing train ride from Wellington to Martinborough. Naomi our tour guide met the group and off we go to learn and drink. We lunched in Martinborough. “We have a vegan onboard!” Inside joke. Naomi, you are amazing. Loved your tour.
