Know More about this tour

Enjoy an incomparable experience at Europe’s highest mountain cableway station at an altitude of 12,739 feet (3,882 meters).

With your single return ticket, catch the green-and-yellow electric bus from the outskirts of Zermatt to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise valley base station.

Here, ride the highest mountain cableway in Europe up to this scenic area, ascending in an 8-seater gondola on the newly extended Matterhorn Express, which offers direct travel from Zermatt via Furi to Trockener Steg and Schwarzsee without changes.

After a journey of roughly 45 minutes, arrive at the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 12,739 feet (3,882 meters), and soak up the awesome mountain scenery, with its glaciers and year-round snow.

Once here, enjoy a range of exciting experiences and attractions, from visiting the 360-degree viewing platform, cinema lounge, and underground Glacier Palace to snow tubing, all included in your entrance ticket.

Highest Viewing Platform in the Alps
Ascend further to the highest observation platform in the Alps. Take the lift to the summit built into the rock, and visit the observation deck to marvel at the 360-degree panoramas. The spectacular views make an indelible impression on all who experience them, and encompass 38 towering Alpine peaks, including the 13,123-foot (4,000-meter) peaks of the French, Italian, and Swiss Alps, and the mighty Jungfrau in all its splendor.

The Glacier Palace
Pay a visit to the fascinating Glacier Palace, the highest of its kind in the world. Carved beneath the surface of the glacier, this stunning ice complex has been recently redesigned to give it a new look.

Ride an elevator down to 49 feet (15 meters) below the glacier surface and take in the wonder of the natural world that awaits, from bizarre ice formations and glittering ice crystals to impressive ice sculptures, a walk-through crevasse, and a thrilling ice slide — an experience that will make any heart beat faster.

Enjoy breaks on the hide-covered seats to fully take in the magical setting at your leisure. There’s even an event room here that offers a space for unique gatherings.

  • A wonderful day up in the mountains - truly amazing to go all the way to the top - outstanding experience

  • Your heart will soar when you go up into the mountains - I don't know what to say other than absolutely amazing and breathtakingly beautiful- highly recommend this

  • The trip up the mountain itself was incredible! Absolutely worth the cost and includes sights that are worth the trip. The inclusions in the ticket were very nice, once we got up to the top everything was based on that one ticket and it was very easy to enter and exit each of the activities. The ice castle inside the glacier was breathtaking and worth the walk down. The restaurant can become very crowded but was nice to warm up in after being outside in the cold.

The instructions on how to access the tickets was definitely lacking. We were very confused and unsure how to access our tickets. Starting in Zermatt, you take the green line bus which picks up at many stops around town. You can get on at any point and ride it to the end of the line Matterhorn Glacier paradise. At that point you must wait in line at the ticket window and present your voucher. Once we did that we were handed tickets that we used for both the gondolas and the attractions at the top of the mountain. You need only one ticket for all of it so make sure to hang on to that ticket. You ride in small gondolas all the way without getting out or changing until you reach the last stop before Glacier Paradise Trockener Steg at which you will change into a large gondola to ride to Glacier Paradise. This is all included in that one ticket. The same ticket will give you access to come back down including the green line bus back to town.

All in all a wonderful experience, just wish the instructions had been more clear on how to access it. I would still recommend though!

  • Being inside a glacier was unbelievable. The ice sculptures were fantastic. Didn't take the shortcut slide. I was afraid I wouldn't come out on the other end....LOL It was well worth the price.

  • I am totally satisfied and happy with Viator's recommendation. This was one of the best trip we had. We reached there morning but the weather was not so good and not able to see Mattherhorn. We waited for about one hour to have a clear sky and finally it worth every single moment. Matterhorn was simple amazing and so did other mountains too. The scenery was perfect and it was snowing too and we had so much fun.

  • Stay in Zermatt for a few days to ensure you have a clear day to experience the Matterhorn.Details to access the first chair lift could be clearer. The rides to the top were exhilarating .On arrival we watched some short films in the cinema then proceeded to the viewing platform. WOW...WOW...WOW. AN IMAGE OF A LIFETIME. Convenience stop next where there was a payment but that came off anything spent in the restaurant. Sitting by the window watching adults and children alike go down the ice slope on a rubber tube and others heading up a gentle slope hiking. We finished the day by watching the rest of the short movies in the cinema. Most certainly the Matterhorn Experience not to be missed.

  • specatcular view. fantastic view of 29 peaks. Matterhorn stands out among peaks

  • I didn't have availability to print out my vouchers nor did I have cell service, so I took screenshots of my phone from the hotel while I had wifi. When I got to the ski lift, the woman behind the counter had never seen or heard of the voucher. After a couple minutes of explaining, taking my phone, and her checking with a coworker, she gave us tickets. It was February, so there were a lot of skiers. This is a skier's paradise. The lift stopped almost at the top. We needed to take another tram to the top but the line filled with skiers was very long. We never went to the top, but we stopped at a couple places along the way to get some great photos of the Matterhorn. We could have just bought tram tickets on the spot for cheaper. We were the only people going up without skis or snowboards which was a little awkward. There wasn't any direction for this voucher and I guess since we didn't make it to the top, we missed out on some of the inclusions.

  • Ok well it is expensive at 100 CHF - but well worth it if you are spending time in this amazing destination. The ticket covers all the lifts and you can come back anyway you choose. it is an experience and one that gives you amazing views in this beautiful place.
