Know More about this tour

Meet your local guide at your chosen time and start with an orientation session to get familiar with your two-wheeled, electric, self-balancing Segway. Once you feel comfortable, youll follow your guide through the narrow alleys of the medieval town, one of the few places that survived unscathed through the middle ages and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988.

Following our experienced guides, the tour passes by the Ibrahim pasha mosque, the oldest mosque in Rhodes that still functions to this day and then crosses Juderia, the Jewish quarters to end up at the catholic church of Lady of the Burgo, the biggest Latin basilica of the island and an architectural gem that fuses different styles and influences.

Next stop is at the hospice of St. Catherine and the tour goes on along the fortification walls passing by St. John's Gate (Red gate) and St. Athanassios Gate to reach our next destination: the mosque of Suleiman, one of the important Muslim monuments that exist today in the West. Then the tour visits the Gate Amboise, the most impressive gate of the medieval fortifications, decorated with the coat of arms of the Order and Grand Master Amboise, which remains a landmark of the medieval town, even to this day.

The next stop of the tour takes place at the Grand Master's Palace or Kastello, the heart of the town's defenses, that also served as the residence of the Grand Master and administrative centre. Gliding down the picturesque Knights Street which connected the political with the religious center, we end up at the last stop of the tour. There we arrive at the Great hospital that under the auspices of the Knights provided high quality medical care and attention to those in need and today houses the archaeological museum.

After exploring the highlights of the medieval town and discovering hidden spots and charming alleys with your guide, you will glide back to a location near the starting point where your tour will end. Throughout the tour, the guide takes care in order to make regular stops, when necessary or available, so that the guests have the opportunity and time to take photos, rest etc. Our tours are flexible, so that a group can make more frequent stops, or take a couple of extra minutes at a certain site and then make up for the delay. The tour guide, the segway safety orientation and the helmet are all included in the price. The tour does not enter any archaeological sites or monuments, so entrance fees are not included. Transfer, food and drinks are also not included in the price.

This was a highlight of our trip!!! Billy was a great Segway instructor (thorough and patient). His tour was informative but more than that fun. We certainly got our money worth. My favorite part was riding through the note of the walled city of Rhodes.

What can I say I loved Rhodes and the varied culture that the island brought. There are areas that are historical with the medieval castles and ruins and then there was the new area that had it's own feel. I will tell you now that the only way to really see the entire area is on a Segway. There were so many guided tours that we saw and I could see the jealously of those walking in the heat as we rode by lol. Our tour guide was amazing and even if you have never been on a Segway they will take the time needed to train you...they are very patient and it is a lot easier than you think...highly recommended!!!

I can't recommend this tour enough! Our Medieval Segway Tour of Rhodes with the charming Val, was the highlight of our 40 day Mediterranean holiday. I am a bit of a wobbly 5'1 middle-aged woman with sever osteo-arthritis in my right knee, my husband is a fit 71 year old. I chose the Segway tour as I have difficulty walking distances. I approached the tour with some trepidation, but I needn't have. Lovely Val provided an extremely thorough 30min training session that left me very confident and keen to get going! The Segway was much easier to manage than I ever expected.. it was almost as if one thought where one wanted to go and it followed. I felt totally in control and safe at all times. Val spoke English fluently and was a wealth of knowledge about local points of interest. Val's in-depth historical, cultural, social and religious insights enriched our experience of beautiful Rhodes. Val paced our tour perfectly, providing plenty of opportunities to stop and appreciate the magnificent outlooks and snap photographs. We saw so much more via Segway than we could ever have hoped to have seen. We covered everything that Rhodes has to offer, from the ease of our Segways. I recall at one stage noting the longing looks of the hot and bothered looking pedestrian tourists on the long and dusty walk around the fortified city walls. I almost felt guilty effortlessly gliding by. As much of ancient Rhodes was designed for horses and carts with virtually no steps getting around via Segway was easy. The Segway took up no more space than a normal pedestrian and allowed us to go places in a short period of time that I simply wouldn't have been able to had we been on foot. 5 Minutes into our Segway tour everything became intuitive and quite exhilarating. I highly recommend the very professionally run, Medieval Segway Tours company in Rhodes. Val, our gorgeous multi-lingual guide was absolutely marvellous. Touring via Segway with this company is the only way to truely appreciate all beautiful Rhodes has to offer.

These guys are just great. We had never done this this before but after 30 minutes of training we were travelling around the city in a group under full control of our Segway.

I would recommend this to everyone as you see so much. We travelled along the moat paths and felt so sorry for the people walking it knowing how far they had to go in the blistering heat, and there was us group of 5 just happily rolling along at a gentle pace.

Book in advance for the early morning as they are very busy.

We had a really excellent tour and they did a wonderful job showing us how to ride the segways as it was our first time. This was a great way to see this really cool medieval city! I highly recommend!!

We have never done a Segway tour before and we are so glad we did one in Rhodes! We had about 20-30 minute training with practice riding and then we were off. Our tour guide, Margarete, was very helpful and easy to follow. She asked us right away our preference on hearing historical info, a lot or a little. We said in the middle and she nailed it! Best part was flying by everyone walking through the Moat. The people walking around looked so jealous and one even asked what company we were touring with. It was such a great experience!!

Excellent service. About 30 min of training and we, a group of five, were on our way. Rode the old town for about 90 min and had a great time. The group preceding us was also from our ship and was equally pleased. Highly recommend taking the ride.

Excellent tour , would recommend it to anybody old or young , Billy and Margaret were fantastic with the patience of saints on training us . It didnt take long to get the hang of the Segways and was worth every penny.
The small lanes and narrow streets were amazing and the tour inside the walled city was brilliant.

We had a wonderful instructor for our first time on the Segway. Then his assistant took us on a 2 hour in depth tour of Rhodes stopping multipal times to explain about the history as well as the sights we were seeing. It was only my wife and I on the tour so we had wonderful personal service. We can't wait to do it again. We may even co e back to Rhodes and stay for a few days next time.
