Know More about this tour

From Dubrovnik, enjoy views of Croatias countryside as you relax on a comfortable air-conditioned coach on the three hour drive to Medjugorje, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. When you arrive, enjoy a walking tour with your guide, who will tell you the history of this religious site, and share other interesting facts of the area.

The legend says that in 1981 the Virgin Mary appeared to six children on a hillside in Medjugorje. Since then, the small, rural town has become one of the most important European pilgrimage sites. More than one million people from all over the world come here every year to pray.

Next, visit the Apparition Hill, where Our Lady is said to have appeared. The climb is a bit challenging, but you will be rewarded by reaching the impressive sky-high cross on the hilltop. You will also have the option to attend a service in the St. James church, or just relax and enjoy the peacefulness in the Garden of Contemplation.

Although the trip, courier and driver was very good, the route is horrendous because of the 3 border control check points which take up most of the time. They need to come up with an easier route (one check point only please). We felt that we spent more time on the border controls than in Medjugorje itself. However we will spread the news to all our friends. Remind them to wear trainers/sneakers if they want to climb Apparition Hill in Medjugorje. Overall a very good trip.

The Guide Doria was lovely and very professional. However the time we got to spend in Medjugorje was very very very limited. We set off from our hotel in Plat Villas Plat at 6:40am and after approximately a 6hr bus trip, delays due mainly to border checks. We arrived in Medjugorje, the guide Nicolla told us we are going straight to Apparation Hill. After completing this handy 2km climb we were told there was no possibility of getting mass as the last mass was @ 1pm. So basically we got 1.5 hr, bought a few souvenirs, grabbed a quick bit of pizza. Then back to the bus for the long road home. Very dissappointed with this trip overall.

Our tour guide was very friendly, loving, caring, and helpful. She helped us enjoy the day at a very good pace. We had plenty of free time and breaks to and from Medjugorje. She also managed boarder crossings in a very kind, calm, and professional manner. Great trip!

It is a long drive there, but the site is definitely worth it. One thing I wish I knew is that the climb to apparition hill is quite rocky, and there is no advice in the tour description to bring good hiking shoes. We showed up in sundresses and sandals, and looked a bit out of place trying to make the climb! Also our town guide was very friendly but I'm not sure how knowledgeable he was given that I knew a lot more information than he did at times.

Great tour. The guides were very good. Not that long of a trip and were lucky going through the borders as we had no delays. Highly recommend going to visit here.

I will not recommend this tour to friends and relatives. We went to Croatia mostly because we wanted to visit Medjugorje. We were so disappointed that we got there late and we almost didn't catch the 10am mass. That was the primary purpose of this trip. The organizers should have anticipated the border traffic. As it was, we had to wait for some people and we got delayed. Then the first stop was too long. The guide gave us 20 minutes for coffee and toilet stop which was unnecessary.
