Know More about this tour

We will meet our guide there. Escape the city for a tour of theMekong Delta, where you'll see what life is like beyond the urban centre of the south. About 2.5 hours away is the city ofMy Tho, a former naval base that is now a bustling port city in the Mekong Delta. The area is thefinal destination of the mighty Mekong River, which winds its way from Tibet, through China, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, and finally into Vietnam. An incredibly fertile region, the Mekong Delta's prime industry is food production, producing approximately half of Vietnam's total agricultural output. Local life for villages in the area revolves around the rivers and canals that make up the delta, so much so that people are more likely to transport by river than road. Upon arrival into My Tho, we board our private boat for a cruise on theMekong River. Our first stop is at a fish farm, to gain an insight into one of the cottage industries in the region. On our Mekong tour, we'll visit an island with lush tropical gardens where we have a chance to sample tropical fruit. Continuing to another island in the Mekong Delta, we'll learn more about another cottage industry, coconut candy. Your local guide will take you to a factory and explain the process of making the sweet. As we meander down the Mekong, we'll have a chance to visit local villages in the area and learn more about the traditional lifestyles, culture, and customs of people who call the Delta their home. Continuing on ourMekong discover, we'll travel by Xe Loi (motorised cart), and visit a bee farm, from where we'll transfer to a smaller rowing boat to help us get deeper into the smaller canals of the Delta.
For lunch, we'll hit upDiem Phuong restaurant, where your local guide will provide you with some advice on the finer points of local cuisine and assist with ordering some of these delicacies.
We'll head back to My Tho for the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

From pickup to drop off at our hotel this tour was amazing. Our tour guide Minh had great knowledge and history information, with a good sense of humour. The flow was good, no rush, plenty of time to look around, and no queues. The food for lunch was amazing.

A fabulous day with our very informative tour guide, Minh. The Bee farm, watching the Coconut Candy making & delicious, fresh lunch were all amazing but our favourite part was kayaking down the river back to our boat. Thanks so much Minh for a wonderful day. (& also making sure we always knew where the Dunny was at ever stop 😆)

I’ve been to Vietnam, many many times on business and a few times with the family. This business trip in August I had a free day so I took the Micon Delta river tour. My tour guide was Minh. Ha. He was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable. He explained everything in full detail. I knew what to expect. I learned about the culture, the history, the food, and about the people in Vietnam, much more than any of the many many tours I have taken before with other companies. Usually I don’t do lunch on these tours. I’m always disappointed and the food is never good, but I had the best lunch experience on this tour. The food was amazing. It was very local very fresh. An absolutely delicious. Again, I have been to Vietnam many many times over the last 18 years and this was an amazing eye-opening tour for me. I can’t say enough about Mr. Minh Ha. He was great I would absolutely recommend this trip to anybody. We left the opera house at 8 AM and returned by 4 PM. Perfect timing it was just right excellent excellent tour and excellent guide. Hope to see you again, Minh Ha!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day out during the Mekong Discovery Tour thanks to our very friendly and highly knowledgeable guide, Tan, providing us with loads of very interesting information on Vietnam, the Mekong River and the sites visited during the tour. All the transport connections were seamless from our start point back to our city hotel. The backed fish rice-paper rolls prepared in front of us were sensational together with the accompanying feast laid out before us. We would highly recommend this tour.

Mr Tan was very informative and funny, helping us understand about Vietnam life on the Mekong Delta islands. Couldn’t have a better guide

We’d had a busy holiday and this was to be our last organised tour. Huang Le (Linda) met us outside the Opera House as arranged. She had a difficult decision to make as some of the party had not appeared. We waited for around twenty minutes while Huang Le tried to contact the absentees. She did this with the utmost professionalism and concern not only for them but for those of us who’d arrived on time too. What an absolute delight of a day we had. Huang Le chatted as we left the city and made space for everyone to join in the conversation. Her knowledge of and passion for the area were inspiring and she treated everyone and everything with great respect. The description of the day on the website is one of the most accurate I’ve seen, I can recognise each of the explanations and the photos added match what you’ll see. We loved every minute. Have a go, you won’t be disappointed especially if Huang Le is your guide.

Huong Le is a very informative guide who gave us a lot of extra information. It takes about 1.5 hrs + to reach the delta but lots of different experiences once you get there eg coconut Candy, bees, chocolate

Would very much recommend this trip. A real variety of activities and a lovely authentic lunch included - with plenty of food! Linda was our tour guide - such a great host with many real life experiences to share, as well as being very knowledgeable about everything on the trip.
