Our guide was very knowledgeable, and gave an interesting history of the culture. She explained where much of the food came from, and then we walked about to various restaurants t9 sample their cuisine. This is definitely a tour I’d recommend.

Wow! What a great way to get a glimpse at Australian history and in particular, Melbourne history. A little immigration, architecture, and of course food. What a great way to bring insight to all that participate and fill their stomachs too. If you choose to do this tour, bring your walking shoes, open eyes, an open heart, and a camera wouldn’t hurt too.

My two friends and I were the only participants on this tour back in January. We booked it last minute and were so happy the company could accommodate us. We met our guide, Dhwani at the immigration museum. After spending some time touring the museum and learning about the history of Melbourne and Australia, we walked to our first stop to get some coffee. Dhwani took us to more stops than we could have every anticipated. You will not be hungry after this tour and you will walk a good amount. Our food stops represented many different cultures (Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian). Even with dietary restrictions, you'll find something to eat on this tour. Just when we thought we couldn't eat anymore, we made our last stop for gelato. This tour was fun, delicious, and informative. I would highly recommend it!

We had a great tour and time spent with our guide Dhwani and fellow travelers with Foodie Trails, on our recent visit to Melbourne. This Foodie Culture Walking Tour was excellent, especially with a visit to the Immigration Museum included. This is a food & culture tour, so starting off at the Museum was perfect. Walking the streets and lane ways, visiting shops and learning about the different cultures in the city, was excellent. Having the opportunity to sample some delicious food from these various cultures, is what this tour is all about. You had better arrive hungry, as there's plenty of food sampling on this tour. A must do tour if you love food and especially discovering hidden gem eateries, that only the locals know about! For more detailed information and photos, be sure to visit my Travel Blog. :)

Himanshi was a great guide. She gave us lots of information about the immigration waves in Australia throughout history and it really put the foodie part of the tour into context. I knew why we were eating what we were eating and how it represents Melbournian culture. I loved this tour. It actually has been my favorite out of the whole trip!!

I recently did the Melbourne Foodie Culture tour and it was great!! So much amazing food, discovering cool little hidden spots in Melbs I wouldn't otherwise have known about, and a fascinating look into how Melbourne became what it is today!! Highly recommended :-)

We were lucky enough to be part of the first Melbourne Cultural Tour. Himanshi was our guide and a thoroughly knowledgeable and friendly lady. She gave us a great insight into immigration to Australia through the introduction of food. We were taken to places that we had never been to before (that is always exciting), all of the food stops were great, snacks along the way, and by the end you honestly couldn’t eat anymore. We have now found some amazing places to revisit and food to try. The 4 hours just passed, at no point were we rushed, it was a very enjoyable stroll around Melbourne. Will definitely consider further tours and will definitely pass the world. Thank you everyone for a memorable walk and our earlier communication with the office was also very easy. Good luck

Our guide Himanshi took us on a wonderful foodies tour of Melbourne starting at the immigration museum . After a tour of the museum and it’s history we started our walking foodie tour. We learned how the evolving food culture changed the face of Melbourne starting with coffee and vegemite on toast and ending with an Indian lunch. Along the way we visited a spice shop and an Asian supermarket among other places. We are from Melbourne and often come into the city but on this tour we heard and saw places that we were not aware of. Thank you Himanshi for a relaxing enjoyable tour . Lorraine and Ray
