Enter the picturesqueEglinton Valley, a place of ancient alpine forest and gushing waterfalls and one of only a few road-accessible glacier valleys in New Zealand, and take advantage of the photo opportunities on offer along the Milford Road, like the stunningMirror Lakes, where on a calm day the surrounding mountain ranges are perfectly reflected in the still waters, andKnobs Flat, where glaciers have carved their mark on the terrain.

Your glass-roof coach will provide amazing views of the dramatic skyline as you cross theMain Divideof the Southern Alps, with stunning mountain peaks all around. Stop atMonkey Creekand sample some of the purest water in the world (but watch out for cheeky kea - native mountain parrots!). Travel under the mountains through theHomer Tunnel, a 1.2km passageway drilled into solid rock, then experienceThe Chasm, a short but impressive walk over footbridges spanning a series of powerful, swirling waterfalls and rapids.

AtMilford Sound, board your 1 hour 45 minute cruise and travel the length of the fiord and out to the Tasman Sea, gliding past glacier-scarred rock walls and waterfalls that tumble into the sea. Lush native forest clings to steep cliffs, whilewildlifeincluding seals, penguins and dolphins are regular visitors to the icy waters.

Your cruise will take place on the newest and most luxurious cruise ship in Milford sound. This impressive three-level catamaran has extensive outdoor decks so you can get up close to nature. Inside you'll find comfortable seating as well as unique glass roofs and HD screens projecting live outdoor footage, so you won't miss a thing. I don't know why I didn't research this, but it is a 5 hour drive each way from Queenstown to the Milford sound. This makes for a long day sitting on the bus so prepare yourself. However, this does not detract from the amazing experience you will have at the Milford Sound. What a breathtakingly beautiful place. The boat we were on was newer and very nice. I'd say my only complaint about the experience is that there isn't much organization when lunch is served. Everyone rushes the tiny kitchen at once and I ended up waiting in line for the first quarter of the boat ride! The last thing I wanted to do was be inside where I couldn't see the sites. I personally feel if they sent people to the lunch buffet in smaller, organized groups it would be much more efficient.

Good tour.It was really a coach journey from Queenstown to Milford Sound and a boat ride (an half and a half) in Milford sound. Hassle free and on time. Bus driver was a Frenchman giving quite a lot of interesting information on the area, history etc.

The cruise with transfer from Queenstown was more than perfectly organised and the bus driver was entertaining us with endless stories about the area. The trip, the vessel and the food is worth it. You will miss a lot of things if you go on your own. But then what I didn’t like was that we arrived after a few hours bus trip hungry for lunch and we took a lot of time in a line to the buffet whereas the yacht already sailed out and the captain was already describing the place - we either didn’t hear him well, didn’t see the landscape nor we ate yet... then of course the most tricky part is the weather ... it’s one of the most rainy areas in the world and don’t expect it to be warm either - it is necessary to take some wind/water-proof clothing. All in all it is a trip you should not miss and you will be travelling in perfect conditions.

Despite the weather being very wet and windy, it was still a great trip to Milford Sound. Waterfalls were everywhere and they alone were a site to see! Great driver and informative of the area travelled. The cruise, even tho very wet and windy was well worth getting drenched to see what we could. Definitely have to do again when a sunny day :) Thank you

The trip to Milford Sound is amazing with plenty of stops before reaching Milford Sound. Once you're at Milford Sound, it's like a gate to heaven - truly stunning and breathtaking.

In terms of the tour, everything was well organised. The bus was clean, comfortable, and the driver was very entertaining and told us plenty of history and information along the way. The buffet on the cruise ship was also very delicious. Great value for a full day excursion!
