Know More about this tour

You’ll be picked up from a central Paris meeting point or your hotel (depending on option selected) in the early morning to begin your full-day adventure to Mont St-Michel. Sit back and enjoy the views on the long coach drive north through the beautiful Normandy countryside.
Arrive at Mont St-Michel in the late morning for your guided walking tour of this iconic attraction, perched on a rocky island amid a vast bay and encircled by stout ramparts and battlements. After fueling up with lunch and refreshments (included), follow your expert guide on a walk to the top of the hilly village, where you’ll then travel back in time as you enter the fascinating abbey.
Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, Mont St-Michel was a major cultural and pilgrimage center during the Middle Ages. Legend has it that the abbey was founded in the 8th century, when Aubert, the bishop of Avranches, was visited by the Archangel Michael in a dream. To this day the abbey is still crowned by a gilded copper statue of Michael slaying a dragon, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
See the abbey’s remarkable cloister and refectory, and view how the ramparts have been added to support the Gothic monastery over the centuries. You’ll also hear about this attraction's most well-known and alluring feature: the extreme tides. At low tide, the island can be surrounded by bare sand for miles, but at high tide — barely six hours later — the water swells up and fills the bay, surrounding the entire island.
After your tour, you’re free to wander the village around Mont St-Michel on your own. Walk around the abbey's ramparts, browse the shops along the main street, visit the island's museums, and watch the sea rush in from the Atlantic and surround Mont St-Michel at high tide.
You will spend approximately four hours at Mont St-Michel before departing on your relaxing drive back to Paris.

  • If you want to see Mt. Saint Michel from Paris, I would recommend this day trip. We were picked up on time we booked hotel pick up and the ride there was smooth. The tour of the abbey would be difficult to do on your own. So glad we had a guide to explain all we were walking through. There was a rest stop before arrival and after for toilets and food. The lunch served before the tour was good and we had the view of the Mt. Saint Michel. The four people in our group all felt it was a good value.

  • We were picked up for the tour and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Enough time to look around. The meal was amazing and we didn't eat fish so we had requested chicken and were not disappointed. This was our second day that the organisers picked us up, we were disappointed when the shuttle organisers tried to drop us off at the wrong accommodation for the second day in a row. Buyers be wary of your surroundings cause at one stage they wouldn't let us back into the shuttle if not for a nice lady that understood us and explained in French what had happened, then we found out he had the incorrect addresses for all of the drop offs! Not acceptable for the money we spent on these tours.

  • Corinne was a great guide. She was efficient, knowledgable and very friendly. She was able to hold our attention. Might want to list the steps required to reach the abby could be restrictive for some.

  • We my 28 yr old daughter and I booked an all day tour 14 hours in English and were to have been picked up at our hotel. When we called Paris City Vision ahead to confirm that they had our hotel address correct, they said they would not pick us up at our hotel, because we had not paid for that. So, we took the metro and arrived at Paris City Vision at 6:30AM, more than 30' prior to departure. We were told we could not have any food or drink on the bus. When we were on the way, our guides there were 2 started speaking in Spanish.....for at least 5', then in French for 5' that point, I was sure that I was on the wrong tour......then the other guide spoke in english, but was hoarse and had such bad laryngitis, she was difficult to understand. At the comfort stop, we barely had time to use the restrooms and get something to eat. We arrived at Mont St Michel and went to the dining room for our 3 course lunch. We were not instructed to be sure and take time to use the restrooms, so at least 20 of us waited in line after lunch, and the guides left some of the travelers, without saying anything and went outside to catch the bus across the causeway. Our group of 30 people were waiting at the curb. When the bus arrived it was full..... Our guides told us to push against the people and try to get on. A few were able to squeeze in. Then the next bus came and it was full too. They were trying to push us on the bus against the people on the bus and the 2 guides got on the bus and left us standing on the curb. They did not give us any instructions about where to meet them. My daughter and I and 2 other women walked across the causeway and entered Mont St Michel on our own. We had previously been given our tickets for entry to the Abbey. At that point we hoped we didn't run into our guides. We walked back across the causeway and arrived at what we thought should be our departure time. The 4 hour ride back was a long ride. While traveling on the bus to Mont St Michel, I overheard one of the guides telling a traveler that she was not from a good part of Portugal like she was. I don't think that is something that you say to anyone, let alone a guide. I think one of the guides was named Mary Amelia, she was blonde and hoarse and rude. The other guide acted resentful as if she were herding recalcitrant teenagers and was the one that made the judgmental comment about Portugal. Neither woman should be working in a service industry.
I am glad that I was able to see Mont St Michel, but will never have anything to do with Paris City Vision. AND, I am returning to Paris in December.
I love your company, and booked six different tours with you during my recent weeklong stay in Paris. As you can see from my previous reviews I am very pleased with the tours that I selected, except for this one. I think it is important that you know what transpired, because I cannot imagine that you would condone this. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions.

  • Couldn't speak highly enough of this trip.
We were group of 6, varying ages.
    Well worth taking this tour

  • A long day but well worth doing. The bus ride was easy and comfortable. It was majestic and beautiful.

  • The wonderful guide, Caroline, with her great knowledge, high level of energy and enthusiasms, and all positive attitude made this tour very worth it. Our bus driver, Vincent ?, was a supper professional too. But as far as visiting Mt. Saint Michele is concerned, I wish I had not, at least on such a hot August day! The very mysterious and romantic image that I had seen in movies is now replaced with crowd packs of tourists!

  • Everything was as expected. There was some confusion about pickup hotel. After that things went smoothly. It was a long day but truely worth it. Tour guide is knowledgeable and efficiently use the time. Lunch site is nice so was the food and drinks. The Abbey, small village and surrounding area are beautiful and amazing.

  • A very long way for a day trip. Mont Saint Michel itself is quite impressive, but the tourist street inside the walls is very forgettable. The guide was great.

  • Yup It's saint michel.. it was fantastic! the guide well informed and the food was fantastic too.
