Johnny was an excellent tour guide and we enjoyed a lot taking the tour with him. He was fun, talkative and the best part: very much excited about the nature and wildlife. It’s always the best when the guide actually likes what he does, and we were lucky to experience Monteverde with Johnny. 5/5, pura vida!

Johnny was an amazing guide, a really down to earth guy with a great sense of humour! He found various animals such as Quetzals, Toucanets, a Green Viper and a Tarantula. The real highlight for us was the hummingbirds who were totally not bothered by all of the tourists in awe. Johnny answered any questions we had in full detail and shared bits about his life with us. We hope to visit his organic restaurant when we return to Costa Rica!

Great tour - we saw birds, snakes, spiders and many others. Very good guide and we would do it again.

Johnny is an experienced, passionate guide with extensive knowledge. He matches the tour with the audience interest and background. Or tour was cut a little short due to lightning but it was the right call. Note: it wasn't clear that a separate fee to enter the Monteverde Reserve is not included. This brings the cost up to similar tours offered directly by the reserve. In all, it was a solid value.

The guide was 20 minutes late, did not contact us, and taught us very little about the cloud forest.

The tour was so nice! Jonny is really nice and funny as well. He taught us a lot about the cloud forest and its history.

We had trouble with our bus schedule and arrived late for the tour with Johnny. He waited for us which was amazing ! The walk was very interesting, We learned lots and he was very cheerful and fun.

Johnny was great - highly recommend his tours. He’s funny, knowledgeable and excited to see the birds as you go along the tour. He’s also reasonably priced and generous with his time (ours was 3h30 in the end). We met him at Casem Co-op at 7am and watched some birds around there, then went up into Curi-Cancha reserve and saw a whole bunch of amazing birds - the Resplendent Quetzal, a Northern Emerald Toucanet, and even an Ornate Hawk Eagle. It was only the two of us, which was really nice. We had no binoculars or telescope of our own but Johnny found birds with his scope and we watched and videod them on our phones through that (which Johnny is also an expert at). Some photos attached. After the tour we got delicious and reasonably priced breakfast from Casem. It was so good.

My favorite part of our tour was Dani making sure we had every opportunity to see various birds up close. We saw many different species of birds and flora and he took the time to even take photos for us through his scope. He was very personable and my friend and I had a great time. One piece of advice for those who claim/say they saw nothing: be quiet! We had birds come up to us within 2 feet because we weren’t loud. Be respectful of their environment. We are in their home.

Waste of money. This is the worst tour eve. We didn’t see anything. We have spend 2.5hrs looking at plants in a small portion of the park.
