We loved our food tour and wanted to thank you so much for also making it safe & accessible for my son. It’s very challenging to travel with a severe dairy allergy and food is such a wonderful way to get a sense of an area’s culture. Fantastic that we could all experience this introduction together! Simon, our guide, was so knowledgeable and so much fun for all. I loved that when he asked us at the end to each share the food we enjoyed most, we all had a different answer! I also loved that the tour included goodie bags of snacks and that Simon (and Amy!) provided helpful tips for our time in Madrid (in addition to the wonderful suggestions from Karen of spainlesstravel.com that shaped our whole itinerary). Thank you all - this was fun & delicioso!

We had such a fantastic time on this tour with with Leire. She was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we were walking through, giving us the history and context of the places and how that influenced the food and the markets. It was great to visit and support smaller, family run businesses on the tour. We sampled a great range of foods and really appreciated the help and recommendations we were given to take with us on the rest of our holiday throughout Spain. I would definitely recommend doing a tour with these guys and I would happily go again with them on a return journey!

100% recommended. One of the highlights of our time in Spain. Oliver was fantastic! He was personable and very knowledgeable. My only regret was that we did not do this experience at the beginning of our trip and not the end as it certainly would have changed the way we ate during our trip.

What an absolutely wonderful time! Margit took us on a walking tapas and market tour to try some of the best parts of Spanish cuisine. We were able to meet the people who owned the shops, often for several generations. She was even able to find some food for the one vegetarian member of our group. We had so much fun. We also had them arrange an evening of tapas, flamenco, and dinner where we were able to get an understanding of the art form and the music so we enjoyed it so much more. The dinner was fantastic and we loved having someone pick lots of things for us to try. Thank you Margit and Irena for making our time in Madrid so memorable.

We had the best time on our Family Tapas evening tour. We were a group of 8 (2 families - 4 adults, 4 kids ages 4-10) and enjoyed every single stop along with all the incredible and interesting information that our guide shared (Irene was wonderful! She kept things light and fun for the kids but still so interesting for the adults). The kids loved trying the dishes and they even had a juice tasting set up for them when the adults did a wine tasting. They loved that. I can highly recommend this tour to other families and we will be doing it again with other friends that come to visit us here in Madrid!! I should also add, one friend doesn't eat pork, they took that in to consideration and had plenty of interesting and pork free options. No one went hungry and all the beverages were delicious!

The De Mercados tour was a wonderful experience! Our guide, Simon, was very friendly, fun, and made everyone on our tour feel comfortable right away. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us some good tips and recommendations for our stay in Madrid. It was the perfect start to our vacation. We had our 9 year old daughter with us and she said it was the best food tour ever! Getting to know the neighborhoods on our tour made the city feel more personal. One of the merchants even recognized us the next day and waved to us as we walked by on the street! I highly recommend the De Mercados tour. You won’t regret it!

This tour with Isabel was absolutely amazing!! My family and I had a wonderful time! Isabel was super knowledgeable and sprinkled in the right amount of history and fun facts to each of the eateries we visited and that was very engaging especially for my kids! This was our favorite tour in Madrid!

We highly recommend the Neighborhood Tapas Tour for families. I have a family of 4 with 2 teenage kids. We landed in Madrid and did this tour on the first day. Our tour guide, Andrea, was wonderful. She was easy to talk to and all the places we went were wonderful. The neighborhood was great and we really enjoyed this tour and the food. We highly recommend them as

Incredible tour of the Malasana market and locally owned shops in the area complete with chocolate and churros, olives, jamon, almonds and a lunch of tapas. Gracious host.

We had a great time walking around the Malasaña neighborhood. We ate churros (kids still rate the chocolate the best we’ve had in Spain), did a jamón, cheese and wine tasting, ate our way around the market, and had a yummy lunch at the end. Our guide was awesome and the family all thought it was one of the best things we did in Madrid. Although I speak Spanish well enough and probably could have guided us around, it was nice to just enjoy someone else doing the planning and giving us the insider scoop.
