Know More about this tour

The first part of the tour will leave near St. Marks Basilica, where you will meet your guide for a walking tour of some of the most Eastern-influenced areas of Venice, from St. Marks Square to the Rialto bridge.

Your guide will focus on the unique history of Venice outside some its most famous sites. You will admire the Byzantine faade of St. Marks Basilica and the magnificent architecture of the Doges Palace. Then you will head towards Campo Santa maria formosa to learn the story of one of Venice most beautiful churches, you will see the former home of world-known explorer Marco polo and finally pass the Malibran Theatre, known for having the most extravagant stage in Venice.

You will be led back to St. mark's square for an approximately 1.5-hour break before your skip-the-line tour of St. Marks Cathedral. Enjoy your free time strolling along the Riva degli schiavoni or as you prefer and then meet your guide for the second part of the tour outside St. Mark's. Learn the history of one of the worlds most iconic cathedrals and, once inside, admire its gilded mosaics and the rarely seen Pala dOro (Golden Pall), one of the most accomplished works of Byzantine art.

I enjoyed this tour so much, I plan to do it again next year!

  • 13-Apr-2017

Very large group, somewhat disorganized to check in then go get head sets from different person. Also a break of over an hour between tours which we were not aware of. Tour leaders were informative however and skipping like at St Marks appreciated.
