This was definitely a challenging experience. I was about to abandon but my guide and his twin sister were fabulously kind. They made sure I was ok throughout and helped me at some point. Thanks guys for your professionalism and your dedication to your work. The trek is hard ngl but the view you get at the summit really worth the sweat.

Ameka (driver) and Tri (hike guide) were amazing. The hike and views were simply gorgeous and breath taking!

5 stars for Tri, she was an absolute gem. Helped me up the difficult and steep uphill climb when my legs gave out. Overall 4 stars. Wish the driver had an extra pack of water as I got really thirsty on the drive back. He distributed water to all at the start.

JRO was an amazing guide. The whole experience was perfect. He was a chef, photographer and buddy!!!

The car was so small to accommodate 7 people that actually only fit for maximum 5. We ere cramp for 2 hours drive. Guide was basic, they didn't provide any information about the mountain.

Had the most wonderful sunrise experience tour led by our guide Tri. She is the most charming lady, a single mother with daughters, who looked after our group brilliantly. I couldn't recommend her as a guide any more, she was perfect! Our driver (didn't catch his name but he is called Cloudy on Whatsapp I see) was also great, picked me up exactly at 2:30 as promised, and drove very carefully. Overall the tour was a good experience, a small group of us (3 only), met some lovely people, and Mount Batur is simply stunning. On the hike I'd recommend packing some good shoes as it's steeper and a bit trickier than expected. Also pack a light sweater and jacket as it gets cold at the summit. This was a great tour though overall, and I would highly recommend!

Tri was my guide, lovely lady in her 50s (amazingly fit, single mum). Beautiful rewarding sunrise, def recommended. Tri kindly gave us lots of breaks along the way. Tiring enough to feel you accomplished something, but not tiring enough to make you hate yourself Total distance 10.5km return Terrain: initially road/pavement, then rocks for the second 50%. You can ride a motorbike up (350K rupiah) or down (250k rupiah). Or a jeep. Jeep wont take you the whole way but high enough to enjoy sunrise i reckon. Steep terrain so motorbikes may be a little dicey, esp at the rocky parts. Hire according to your risk tolerance :) Bring a jacket / hoodie as its cold at the top! The hike down is slippery due to loose sand and stones, recommend a hiking stick or two if youre into those. Wear proper hiking shoes or sneakers. Rice paddy views on the way down too. Coffee, sandwiches, snackbars and hard boiled eggs served up top by Tri - much appreciated Theres also a surprise volcanic hot spring part at the top. Great view. Personally i slept in til 6pm the day i was going, and felt that kept my energy up throughout the hike! Nice small grp of 3 pax - met some friendly travellers from elsewhere which made it more fulfilling Torches provided. If you like, bring a headlamp. The route down was sunny. Had a visor which i absolutely recommend. Sunscreen too. Started around 330am, summit around 545am Left villa 145am Got back to my villa in Seminyak 1030am on sat (some traffic) Enjoy!

Enjoyed the walk, but seeing the sky change as we got to the top. I liked the banana sandwich and tea which provided the atmosphere of the moment.

Our guide JRO was professional and patient. Even though some of us were behind, he was very encouraging and lead us on. Kudos to his professionalism. Event was well planned , with headlamps provided and breakfast too. He is definitely a good guide to have !

The Mount Batur trek was an amazing experience, it is definitely a tough hike but the view was 100% worth it. We had an excellent guide, Ketut, he was so kind and motivating as we climbed up in the morning and took some great photos of us. He knew all the best spots to look at the view and showed us some really cool volcanic steam which was nice and toastie on the cold morning. I would highly recommend this experience and you would be really lucky to have Ketut as your guide.
