Know More about this tour

Your 10-hour Mt Rainier journey begins with pickup at your hotel in the SeaTac or Seattle area by coach bus or sprinter van. Enjoy a scenic drive, with your expert driver and guide narrating the views outside your window along the way. Admire Alder Lake, the quaint old logging town of Eatonville and historic train boxcars that have been repurposed.

Take a brief break at Longmire’s visitor center to explore the museum and National Park Inn. If time permits, go on a quick hike on the Trail of Shadows. Then get your camera ready for a photo op at Christine Falls, before tracing the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, a bridal veil waterfall that is taller than Niagara.

Then comes the best part: the views at Paradise, at 5,400 feet (1,646 m) above sea level. Grab lunch here (own expense) and take in the stunning views on the southern slope of Mt Rainier and the valley below. Watch for Roosevelt elk, deer, black bear, marmots and the elusive red fox lurking around the mountain. You’ll then have the option to go snowshoeing and sledding, if weather conditions permit. During the summer, take in flower meadow vistas and enjoy an extra stop at Reflection Lake. Cap off the day by learning a bit of history at the Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center, where you can read informational displays and watch a short movie about Mt Rainier, before heading back down the mountain, concluding with drop-off at your hotel.

Please note: Dress in layers year-round. Wear comfortable walking shoes or snow boots. Dress for snowy conditions November–June. Paradise receives several feet of snow during the winter.

  • Had a great experience. Guide was personable and knowledgeable.

  • We had a good time on this tour!
Joe, our driver/guide was funny, very informative and prepared.
    We loved the snowshoeing activity.
The hotel pick up and drop off is very convenient as well.
The small group was nice as we don't have to wait for many people to come back and not crowded.

  • If you want some breathtaking view of snow covered mountains and Alpines reaching high nearly touching the sky, this trip is highly recommended. The trip organizing team is well coordinated, organised and Joel as our tour guide makes it the best. Jackets, gloves, socks, snow shoes, water and cupcakes as surprise were provided by the tour planners of all the sizes. Our tour guide Joel stopped where ever he could to take some good pictures and make our trip memorable. We were not able to see mount rainier but that is because of weather and fog covering mountain. All in all trip was really great. Thanks

  • This tour was amazing!

  • Joe our driver was awesome

  • Absolutely loved the trip! Joe was our guide and driver - great sense of humour and amazing stories on the way to Mt.Rainier!
We were lucky that day - weather was sunny and sky was blue - perfect! The only thing I wish this tour had more of - spare time at Paradise, but I suppose it'd never be enough of time there :

  • The day trip was wonderful and Joel was a fantastic guide, lucked out with perfect weather for the end of October!
Due to the time of year, only one of the parks 4 visitor's centers was open. It wasn't a problem as our guide made sure we knew this at the start of the trip and stopped at a grocery store about half way there where he encouraged everyone to purchase lunch and snacks for later as well as to use the rest room. He also had plenty of bottled water on hand for us to drink.

The bus was NOT equipped with a restroom which could be a problem for some people

No hiking/climbing is required to go on the trip but if you have limited mobility or difficulty walking on uneven surfaces or with steep inclines, you might not get your money's worth. A walking stick, cane or similar item to help with balance may be useful for people to bring with them, esp. if you intend to tackle the more difficult path at Paradise.

  • What an amazing trip. Started out with a bit of difficulty finding parking, but that is Seattle. Joe was an amazing tour guide. WE had expected a trip with a few stops for photo ops but he went above and beyond, showing us where to hike and go for the best photos his were AMAZING. We were able to see Mt. Rainier and it looked exactly like the photos! Great trip would highly recommend!

  • Trip was amazing. Views were breathtaking. Our guide Joel could not have been better. Such a great trip!
