Know More about this tour

Meet your private local guide at your hotel reception desk. Board the private water taxi and travel along the Grand Canal through Venice and the lagoon to reach the island of Murano.

Once we arrive at Murano Island, you will walk through the historical center and visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria e Donato, a 7th-century church of rare Romanesque style with original mosaics. After a 15-minute walk through Murano's quiet streets, you will reach the glass factory.

Here, you will spend about 20 minutes observing the glass masters at work. Watch them make two different objects with their famous technique for glass-blowing and sculpture.

Would you like to try on the glass slipper? If your foot fits, you will become the Cinderella of the day and will receive a special present. You can choose from a multi-colored flower vase, a dish with 'millefiori' decoration, or a Venetian wine glass (called 'goto'). You will also receive free time in the showrooms and a special 20% discount on purchases.

The tour ends in the glass factory. You can return to the center of Venice or continue easily to Burano and Torcello at any time with public transportation (on your own). The boat station is approximately 300 meters from the glass factory (ticket not included).

  • This was an excellent tour. Our tour guide, Martina, was personable and professional. She was very knowledgeable about Venice and it's history, and very willing to answer questions.

  • Great experience. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I thought the glass blowing was decent but not incredible. I really enjoyed the guide's perspective on life in Venice and Murano. She was great. I thought the trip should have advertised that we had to pay for our own way back to Venice.

  • I would have enjoyed more information on the boat about glass blowing. It felt a bit like a sales pitch. We needed more information on getting back and the time it would take.

  • Ketti was a fantastic tour guide. The water taxi trip was great, and the tour of the church was a nice bonus. Glass blowing was interesting, but be prepared to get the semi-hard sell in the glass shop. Ketti also made us a reservation at the best restaurant in Borano for risotto.

  • Very friendly guide and the Glass Blowing Demo was really impressiv.

  • There is no hotel pickup. Met the rep who promptly arrived at the hotel on time and took us to a nearby church, which is a walking distance. After that we walked to the glass factory and stayed for at least one hour. The rep gave us a choice of taking us via water taxi to San Marco but we declined, as we were there a day before.

Overall, you will be amazed with the factory and its glass collection. It definitely warms the eyes but puts a deep hole in your pocket if you opt to buy!

  • Our guide and #34;ludo and #34; was fantastic. He was funny and very personable. The Tour of the actual island is short but we did enjoy the glass worker and of course shopping. If you are looking for a quick and exclusive shopping experience then go for it, but if you want a more historical tour , this is not it!

  • We were very surprised to have a private guide to take us to Murano, and even gave us a tour of Murano island before dropping us off at the glass factory! We thought we would just be transported to the island. After the glass factory visit, he met us again to take us to the vaporetto station for our transportation back to San Marco. Since we took the earliest Murano watertaxi, there wasn't a crowd on the island and the factory. We really enjoyed our tour and ride back.

  • Our guide, Gianluca, met us at our hotel and we walked together to the private water taxi which took us to the Island of Murano. Once there, we walked around the island and visited the Cathedral of Santa Maria e Donato, a 7th century church. We then walked to the Colleoni Glass Factory where we learned about glass blowing and watched in amazement as a master glass blower created two beautiful pieces of blown glass. After the demonstration, we went into the show room and saw the beautiful glass art produced there... and, of course, we made a purchase or two. Our guide then escorted us to the water taxi for our ride back to Venice. Great afternoon!

  • Our guide, Gianluca, could not be more warm and accommodating. We started our morning with a water taxi pick up and then a short walking tour of the island of Murano. Gianluca was very patient and kept the walk at a slow enough pace that all were able to keep up, and allowing time for pictures along the way. We visited the cathedral and the most famous Murano Glass Factory the history of glass blowing and the demonstration by a master glass blower were amazing. Three pieces were blown before our eyes and gave us a much better appreciation of the beautiful products produced in this factory and sold around the world....of course, we bought several pieces as well and had them shipped home. Would highly recommend this tour.
