Know More about this tour

Depart from our terminal for one day tour via the coastal National highway for the Corinth canal (short stop). After the Corinth canal, you enter the region of Argolis, land of Homers Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the second century B.C., Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization and a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece . Visit the archaeological site, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. You will see the Cyclopean Walls, the Lions Gate, the Royal Tombs, including Agamemnon Clytemnestra's, and the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent 14th-century B.C. structure. In Mycenae you will have the chance for an optional stop in a pottery factory.

Then, proceed to Nauplion the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of PALAMIDI and the fortified islet of BOURTZI. It was named after Nafplios, son of Poseidon, and it is home of Palamidis, the local hero of the Trojan war and supposedly the inventor of weights and measures, lighthouses, the first Greek alphabet and the father of the Sophists. After a walking tour of the city, you will have lunch in a restaurant beside the sea with amazing views of Bourtzi islet in the middle of the Port. Those who have selected the option without lunch, will have the time to explore further the city or relax having a nice coffee.

Continue on to Epidaurus and visit the ancient theatre. The UNESCOS world heritage listed monument is reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo's son Asklepios, the healer and was the most celebrated healing center of the classical world. Epidaurus is probably most famous for its theatre, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics. The Argolis (Mycenae - Epidaurus) day tour returns to Athens in the late afternoon.

We really enjoyed the trip. The intitial drive was kind of long, but that's expected. In Epidaurus the guide did a wonderful job explaining everything. I just wish we had maybe 20 or so minutes more so we could have climbed to the top. Lunch in Napfalio was wonderful and worth the money to include in the tour.... It was at alovely seaside restaurant and included appetizer, salad, chicken breast plate with fries, and a dessert. The town was super cute... Would be amazing to have a tour of the Venetian fortress with the tour. Mycenae was amazing! Incredible ruins with freedom to explore them. Not crowded at all. Nice that we had time to go to the top and to quickly visit the museum. Then the Mycenaean tomb was super cool. You are allowed to enter and see it for yourself.

Enjoyed the sights, ruins. Good guide. Would have enjoyed more time at Nafplio to explore shops, town and waterfront not just a quick lunch, during the stop. Bus was comfortable and not overly crowded but not luxury. No wifi available on bus despite tour description stating it was.

Be disappointed! I hired and paid € 100 for the excursion and the day before they canceled it, I only requested the refund of the money and it has not yet arrived. I have contacted several times but they do not give me a solution.! Contact me at Agencia Key Tours SA

This was a lovey way to spend the day traveling away from Athens. There is a great deal to explore. Great stops to pick up small gifts. This was an English/Spanish tour which meant a lot of talking by Yourvis. He did a great job teaching about the history or various places, and guiding our tour. It was a lot to listen to everything in English and Spanish (being a n English speaker). I would prefer an English only tour in the future, which is how it was explained online. Bus was very comfortable, but leaked water in the rain. Our lunch was not covered, as described on the web because we registered the morning of the tour.

Our guide Melins was A+ excellent. She was very knowledgeable and quite pleasant. I personally loved Nafplio...a very nice surprise. The Epidauras amphitheater was amazing. I would like to return to both.

Bonne journée d'excursion avec bon guide ( penser à mettre un guide français pour cette excursion serait bien). repas moyen. Le temps passé dans chaque lieu était correct. Départ d'Athènes à 8h30 et retour à 18h30.

A fantastic and fascinating day out. The tour was well paced and there was enough time to look around. I did not pay for the package with lunch as there was a set menu, and instead had lunch at another one of the restaurants facing the ocean and then took a walk around Napflion.

I enjoyed driving through the Peloponnese countryside. Very beautiful. The amphitheatre at Epidaurus fun.
