Nagarkot is the fascinating destination for tourists as it posses cultural significance and natural scenic beauty This place is absolutely uninfluenced naturally as well as traditionally with the modernization of Kathmandu valley. The local people here still live in traditional three-storeyed houses wearing their traditional dresses following the traditional way of agriculture in the terraced field. We shall explore a wide area of the Nagarkot having beautiful natural scenery on this day hike around Kathmandu. The great Himalayan panorama of the shimmering snowy peaks begins our trek from Nagarkot hill station situated at the elevation of 2100m.

Then we have 4 hrs hiking towards Changunarayan temple which is a walk through the beautiful stone paved trail accompanied by villages having the residence of Tamang people of Nepal. We see green valley along with the glistening mountains such as Mt. Dorje-Lakpa, Mt. Ganesh, Mt Langtang and many more other peaks, decorated beautifully by nature in our trail. The hills are terraced into various fields for agriculture which looks arranged and beautiful. The seasonal crops like grains, fruits and vegetables can be seen in the fields throughout the trial. During our hike, we also see traditional Nepali houses having three storeys with kitchen on ground floor, bedroom on middle floor and stores of grains Vakari on the top floor. These thatched houses are built with local stone and mud and they look enormously habitual. There are small sheds along with the houses where people rear cattle like cows and goats. We can see small calves enjoying the delight of its mothers milk and baby goats jumping and playing in the green pasture. The local people along with their cattle like goats, cows, etc can be seen across the trial. The local people are mostly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. Local winemaking also seems common among the Tamang people residing in this area.

Now we come across the trail following the edge rich with deciduous forest. We can see at a distance a totally amazing panorama of the Himalayas which pleases each of its viewers and fills them with excitement and joy.

After having Lunch here, we explore the Chanunarayan temple enlisted on UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a temple built with Pagoda style by Licchavi King Mandev in the 5thcentury.It is adorned with the most woods stones and metals of the valley. This place also consists inscriptions and carvings on stones, woods and metals which reflects the civilization of our art and culture. This place carries great importance in Nepal as a religious site. Both Hindus and Buddhists of Nepal come here so, this place signifies unity among these two religions. After exploring the auspicious zone of Changunarayan 22km east of Kathmandu, we drive back to our hotel. Then, reach to the hotel within 4:00 pm in the evening and rest.
