  • The space center itself is awesome and well worth the visit. The tour organization was awful. First off, our confirmation e-mail directed us to what turned out to be a boarded up coffee shop for pick-up. Fortunately, we were early and had the company's phone number with us. They directed us to another spot about a 10 minute walk away - had we not been early or had the phone number we would have missed the tour.
After the space center tour, the driver announced that the tour bus for the city tour was oversold and was looking for people to agree to do it the next day. When we did the city tour, the wired connection to the speaker didn't work so the driver took the speaker downstairs even though, at his direction, we were all sitting on the upper deck and we literally could hear none of his commentary. The city tour also seemed rushed - it was far shorter than 90 minutes.

  • The Tour of downtown Houston and trip to the NASA Space Facility: The 2 drivers were friendly and informative. The information about Houston was a combination of the driver on a micropone and pre-recorded tapes. Not always the easiest to understand along with accents of the speakers. Information was given in both English and Spanish and I think that was appropriate for the audience. The NASA Space Facility was not the responsibility of the company doing the transportation so I will not include it here. The negative part of the experience and reason for the 2 rating was the condition of the transportation vehicles. The double decker bus for the first part was in poor condition. If you were sitting up top you had to dodge branches and acorns. If you chose to sit on the lower level the windows were filthy and the smell of exhaust filled the cabin. Then we transfer to a bus for the trip to NASA that has the lettering for a Baptist Church on it! Where did this bus come from is the question. It was in better condition but the seatbelts were hard to find and use. The overall impression is that Viator contracts with a local company but probably has no idea of the conditions of the vehicles. You start to wonder if this would be the same situation in any city you would visit that Viator offers tours and if so would you want to find another company other than Viator.

  • Strongly recommended!! NASA is amazing and the city tour is interesting.

  • This was a great tour we had a great time, highlights were the 747 with the space shuttle on top and mission control from back in the 60's. We enjoyed the whole tour

  • So interesting and unique.

  • Once you get off the bus book the tram ride early. There are two different tram rides. Mission control or training. It can take 11/2 hours on the ride. They tell you 45 minutes to an hour. Well worth it but you need to be back in time for the bus. We waited 20 minutes for a passager that did not show at the end of the day. The space Center is very well done.

  • Great tour. So glad we did it. Only had one day to 'see' Houston. This tour gave us a great little open top bus tour of the downtown area, with a commentary. Then we were whisked off to the Space Centre. Amazing museum exhibits and even more amazing that you get to see inside some of the working buildings of the Houston Space Centre experimental laboratories.

  • The tour started 25 minutes after the designated time of 0945. From this poor start the balance of the tour was very good. The tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Quite some time was wasted though changing vehicles, recovering the drivers phone and the late start.

  • It was a quick way to see the city and hear some of its history. Our guide was informative and witty and made the tour fun. The driver to the Space Center gave us good advice on what to see first. The tour starts, and collection from the Space Center, were all late but that was probably due to some of the tourists.

  • The bus had a dripping AC unit at the back due to the condensation, And therefore, the bus had a slightly funky smell, Otherwise, the tour was fine. Just enough time at the Space Centre - but you need to be organised if you want to go on both tours at the space centre both worth doing. Going to the Mission Control was the best if you have to choose. Food was VERY average at the Space Centre.
