Know More about this tour

When your guide picks you up from your hotel, head to downtown Nassau where your tour begins. Explore the brick walls and canons of Fort Fincastle, built in 1793, before you head down the 65 limestone steps of the Queens Staircase, built by slaves in the late 18th century.

Continue to Fort Charlotte, the largest of three forts in Nassau. Climb to the top for a spectacular view of Nassau Harbor and look down at the waterless moat, drawbridge and ramparts.

Learn about the governments that reigned as you see the courthouses, Parliament House and the Government House, made of stuccoed coral rock. Admire a statue of Queen Victoria, who ruled the Commonwealth for 65 years, as well as one of Sir Milo Butler, who became the first Bahamian Governor-General in 1973.

Next, visit the Straw Market, where Bahamian women sell souvenirs such as baskets, bags and dolls from dried palm. Youll also find handmade jewelry, wood carvings and other crafts as well.

In Arawak Cay, named after the original island inhabitants, hang out with the locals at the food stalls, where you can sample Bahamian-style seafood dishes, such as fried fish, conch fritters and conch salad (own expense).

Finally, stop at a local rum cake factory for the opportunity to taste or purchase a delicious cakebaked and marinated in Don Lorenzo rum! Your tour ends with transport back to your Nassau hotel.

  • Charming and cooperative driver. We were the only two people on the tour so he took us wherever we wanted to go.

  • not enough time to look at historic places was more to get us to buy from local vendors - disappointing

  • Our tour guide was excellent. My mother has a bad knee so he always drove us as close as he could to the stops. Highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed.

  • Guide was very knowledgeable.

  • I booked this tour because it was the only one that read it had a Spanish speaking tour guide. I called in advance to make sure everything was in place before I got to the island and all was good. Once there I called to confirm the day before the tour and was told I did not have a Spanish speaking tour guide and that they did not offer that service. It would cost me extra to have them find me a Spanish speaking tour guide. I was not happy, since my group did not speak English that well. Nothing was done and I took the tour anyway. The guide was very nice and accommodating. I enjoyed the tour but please be advised you are false advertising. There are no Spanish speaking guides with this company.

  • Good informative tour - if anything could have done with time at the Straw Market rather than one of the Forts.

  • Good overview of the Nassau sights. Elvis was very knowledgable and friendly and we really enjoyed our tour!
