Overview

This Yosemite tour is led by expert naturalist guides who will reveal the narrative of the Park, from epic clashes of granite and glacier to the land’s journey from a fertile beacon for settlement to a preservation landmark. Delve under the surface of Yosemite National Park’s majestic beauty as your guide brings to life a story of delicate ecosystems, dynamic landscapes, and determined conservationists. Experience Yosemite’s mammoth granite domes, ancient Giant sequoias, and vibrant wildlife. Visit international icons such as Bridalveil Falls, Yosemite Valley, El Capitan, Half Dome, and Glacier Point, and take to the trails on fully-guided interpretative nature walks to experience flora and fauna through the eyes of a naturalist.

Know More about this tour

Arguably the most magnificent national park in the nation, Yosemite National Park is home to hundreds of wildlife species, thousands of plant species, countless waterfalls, and more than 1,000 square miles of wild terrain. Famed naturalist and conservationist John Muir, a staunch advocate for the creation of the park, called Yosemite, by far the grandest of all the special temples of nature (he) was ever permitted to enter.

On this full-day Yosemite tour from San francisco, well travel by luxury vehicle to Yosemite Valley. Millions of years ago, the Valley was the scene of an epic clash of glacier and granite that produced a landscape of sheer cliffs, glacier-carved granite domes, and waterfalls that are among the worlds tallest.

As you revel in Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan, and other lesser-known highlights of Yosemite, your guide will peel away the layers of natural history that formed the Valley. Well also watch for deer, bears, and other wildlife that frequent the area.

After savoring a gourmet, family-style lunch immersed in the fantastic beauty of the park, we continue our Yosemite Tour based on the conditions of the day and interests of the group. We may walk up Sentinel Dome for sweeping panoramic views of the Park, explore Tuolumne Grove to marvel at towering Giant Sequoias, or stroll along the peaceful alpine shores of Tenaya Lake. As snow blankets Yosemite in the winter, we may take advantage of lighter tourist traffic to spend more time experiencing Yosemite Valley on a walk on the shimmering Mirror Lake Trail.

Throughout your Yosemite Tour, your naturalist guide will tell the story of Yosemite National Park from its designation as one of Americas earliest natural preserves to its current status as an international symbol of conservation. From the Native Americans who lived off these lands to conservationists like John Muir who sought to preserve it for future generations, Yosemite embodies the delicate relationship between humans and nature.

Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel in the evening around 8pm.

Going to Yosemite is one of those bucket list items. After reading reviews and seeing concerns with regard to the time it will take to drive from San Francisco, I can only say that this tour with Frazier, started the moment we left San Francisco. He shared a wealth of knowledge and interesting facts on the drive there and the drive back. The stop at the farm stall that included tea/coffee and snacks for breakfast should have been an indication of the wonderful lunch to come next to a lake once we reached Yosemite. The short hike in the high country, the longer hike to the beautiful trees and the opportunity to do this tour with someone that knows what he is talking about and want to share it with his clients, makes this a definite yes. Do not think twice about the drive, just take this tour.

Our tour to Yosemite was with Evergreen Escapes International booked through Viator. Melissa Chiella was our guide. She was very informative, knowledgable, considerate, humorous as well as tweeting our trip to meet our particular interests. This was the high point of our trip to San Francisco. We even saw a brown bear while traveling through Yosemite!!
We highly recommend this Evergreen Ecape tour. Joanne and John M.

My family was really looking forward to seeing Yosemite and all of its Natural Wonders. INSTEAD we basically got to see the inside of a van and look at Yosemite through the windows. We were told we would be out of the city by 7am. We were finally able to be out of the city by 7:35. Which meant we were in a time crunch already. Our guide, Melissa, did not even wear hiking boots! She wore flimsy sandals which should have been a clue that we would not be doing any hiking around the park. The group we were with were more than capable of hiking in to see the Giant Sequoias. Three different people in the group asked about it it is listed on the tour description!!! and we were all told that it would take too long and it was too hot! We basically pulled over 4 times to get out of the van take a quick picture and get back into the van. We did walk in a stream for about 10 minutes and it was about 200 feet from a parking lot. We honestly spent more time at the Farmer's Market and eating lunch than we did exploring the park. My family has been to several National and State Parks. This was extremely disappointing. I don't even feel like we were even there! We were hoping for a Naturalist experience but instead got the tourist picture spots that we could have just stayed home and photo shopped ourselves into. This was a waste of time and money and the worst day spent on our California vacation.

Tour and tour guide were awesome. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to get a great overview of the area in short period of time.

Kate was very knowledgeable about the Park and its history. She was also friendly, a good driver and great fun to be with. We had never visited the Park before so we got the basic tour and walk but we had we been more experienced we could have had a more challenging visit... it is really catered to the person on the trip. We would do it again.

Brendon was a great guide for a perfect day in Yosemite. It was a long day and having someone that knew their way around allowed us to see so much more than we would have on our own. We just wish we could take Brendon to every national park with us.

Fantastic day out to Yosemite with my amazing tour guide Melissa

Ok. I never ever write reviews but my experience today at Yosemite with Melissa as my tour guide was absolutely extraordinary.
Starting early, Melissa had planned everything perfectly for a smooth running day
Won't ruin the surprises for everyone but with this tour you really do get more then what you pay for.
Melissa was professional, prompt, interesting, engaging, and historically knowledgable.
She is a lovely person with a warm personality.
The van was a brand new Mercedes and immaculate.
The real clincher for me to choose this company is that they are environmentally aware.
Also, as a vegetarian, it was absolutely no problem for them to cater for me.
    Lunch was amazing.
Thanks Melissa for a fantastic day out.

I took the 1 day trip to Yosemite this past weekend and could not have asked for a better experience. Our guide, Melissa, made the experience so memorable with fun stories and information along the way! Also-this was SO much more comfortable and personalized than those huge tour buses you see driving through the park. Our small group only had 6 people! They also were so accommodating to my friend and I with the lunch and snacks they provided which was a huge plus (gluten free and vegetarian)--the food was all locally sourced and delicious!
