Know More about this tour

The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the National Park of Arenal where you will start your activity, a 2.5-hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1992 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.

Afterwards, you will be driven for another 30 minutes to reach La Fortuna Waterfall. The hike to the base of the waterfall has about 500 steps (which you will need to climb back up). Once at the base, you will have some time to swim and enjoy the waterfall.

You will spend about 2.5 hours hiking in a primary rainforest, where you will cross about 16 hanging bridges called the Mistico Hanging Bridges. This hike in a large forest with nothing compared to the one in the national park of Arenal, so enjoy it as much as you can..... and remember it's a Rainforest so expect rain, and bring your rain gear.

After the tour, you'll be dropped off at your hotel.

  • Our tour was AWESOME! Erica was fantastic and very knowledgeable-found all kinds of wildlife. Marlin was our driver and would make extra stops for us to see the sloths! The tour was shorter than what the description states but that was just fine as it was a fun filled day! Highly recommend this tour

  • We greatly enjoyed this tour! Our guide Hubert was very knowledgeable and made the experience better than any self-guided hike. He kept an eye out for creatures while walking the bridges and has great information about the volcano. Good driver and lunch.

  • Hector was very knowledgeable. He spoke a lot to the history, forest, culture, animals, etc. he was very personable, and he went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time. It was a good balance of activity, not too taxing. We would definitely recommend this tour.

  • This was a fantastic way to learn about Costa Rica and La Fortuna/Arenal vaolcano. Hector was so informative, attentive and easygoing. Pick-up was on time. We hiked to a great vantage to view Arenal. Then moved on to visit La Fortuna waterfall which was beautiful. We ate a genuine Costa Rican lunch. We ended the day at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park where we were able to see howler monkeys, toucans, a sloth, several birds and snakes. It was so great to have a guide who knew where to spot particular animals and who had a scope for viewing. It was a full day of fun and education - I highly recommend this tour and Hector specifically!

  • The Arenal volcano hike was very informative regarding the origin and history of the volcano and the hike is not too strenuous. The waterfall is quite spectacular and you can swim in the pool at the bottom - quite a few stairs to get there, but you can cool off at the bottom helpful to bring water shoes as you have to climb over rocks. There were quite a few people there and this is low season- I can imagine high season as the tour busses drop off. The hanging bridges get you up close to vegetation and animals - quite amazing. Our guide was very knowledge and communicated clearly. We liked him a lot. Very good tour overall and lunch was good as well.

  • My bf and I were driving around CR and we did mostly self guided tours, but we decided to splurge on this tour and it totally exceeded expectations. The driver and guide were amazing!! We hiked to the volcano in the morning, where he took us to a secret vista point and gave us information about the amazing history of the region. From there we drove to the waterfall, stopping to see the wild Capuchin monkeys swinging in the trees. At the waterfall he guided us to another secret spot! The waterfall was amazing. Then we had a delicious lunch before heading to the hanging bridges. At the hanging bridges we saw butterflies, snakes, blue jeans frogs, a sloth and so many more animals. This tour is very much worth the money.

  • This was an all day tour around the Arenal volcano, La Fortuna waterfall, and Hanging Bridges in the tropical rainforest. Unfortunately the day we went it was foggy so we couldnt see the volcano that well but seeing the dried lava fields was awesome! The waterfall does have 500steps to get to it but it doesnt seem so bad going down. Now coming up the steps takes some time but if you stop to rest its very doable! Lastly the hanging bridges has beautiful views, again because it was foggy and rainy we did not see that many animals but our tour guide Hubert was awesome at explaining the trees and birds that we did see. I have recommended this trip to multiple other people!

  • This tour was amazing. It and #39;s a lot of walking and a lot to do in one day but if you and #39;re short on time, it and #39;s totally worth it! Green vacation tour guide Alvaro was passionate and so knowledgeable. He made the day fly by. The Costa Rican lunch at Rain Forest Cafe was delicious. Highly recommend it!
