Know More about this tour

The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the National Park of Arenal where you will start your activity, a 2.5-hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1992 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.

Afterwards, you will be driven for another 30 minutes to reach La Fortuna Waterfall. The hike to the base of the waterfall has about 500 steps (which you will need to climb back up). Once at the base, you will have some time to swim and enjoy the waterfall.

You will spend about 2.5 hours hiking in a primary rainforest, where you will cross about 16 hanging bridges called the Mistico Hanging Bridges. This hike in a large forest with nothing compared to the one in the national park of Arenal, so enjoy it as much as you can..... and remember it's a Rainforest so expect rain, and bring your rain gear.

After the tour, you'll be dropped off at your hotel.

  • Your was awesome. Uberth was a kind and knowledgeable tour guide. He went out of his way to ensure that we had a good time. If I ever go back to Costa Rica I will definitely book another tour with him.

  • We had a great experience on this tour. Our tour guide, Erica, and our driver, Randall, were both wonderful - smart, kind, communicative. Our group was only 8 people, which made for an intimate experience. Erica and Randall both had so much to offer throughout all the aspects of this tour. It's clear that they take pride in their jobs. Appreciate they were willing to pick us up in La Fortuna's downtown area, as were staying outside of town on our own. Great with my gluten-free diet needs as well.

Ask Erica about the 5 toed sloths!

  • Our guide was very informative. I learned a lot. It was a long day, but not too much.

  • Erica was such a great guide and this tour was awesome! Being our first time to La Fortuna, this tour gave us a sample of the highlights and plenty of information about the history of the area. Our group consisted of 2 families with adult children and we all loved the variety and pace of the tour. Erica took us through gardens, trails and bridges always pointing out interesting sites and helping us to spot wildlife. The time spent at the waterfall and volcano were great and we all enjoyed lunch with Erica and her driver in town. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone up for an adventure and the chance to really get to know the area.

  • We couldn't have been more pleased! guides were experienced, fun and accomadating. a full day of wonderful adventure!

  • This tour was excellent! Our guide Erica was so kind and knowledgeable about EVERYTHING in the forest. The driver stopped by the side of the road to point out a sloth and we got to get out and take pictures. If you want the full picture of Arenal and to learn about nature this is definitely the way to go.

  • Tour started with the hotel pickup to the Arenal volcano hike. It was an awesome experience. Our guide Huberth was very well versed with the volcano, flora and fauna of the region. Spent a good amount of time at the waterfall, followed by a sumptuous lunch at a Soda. The trip to Hanging bridges intensified our trip further - bridges, wild life, forrest, hike.

Our guide took time to explain, stopped at various points at the park and on the way back to hotel as and when he noticed wildlife and creepy creatures :. Kudos to the guide for making this trip memorable for us.

  • Our tour was AWESOME! Erica was fantastic and very knowledgeable-found all kinds of wildlife. Marlin was our driver and would make extra stops for us to see the sloths! The tour was shorter than what the description states but that was just fine as it was a fun filled day! Highly recommend this tour

  • We greatly enjoyed this tour! Our guide Hubert was very knowledgeable and made the experience better than any self-guided hike. He kept an eye out for creatures while walking the bridges and has great information about the volcano. Good driver and lunch.

  • Hector was very knowledgeable. He spoke a lot to the history, forest, culture, animals, etc. he was very personable, and he went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time. It was a good balance of activity, not too taxing. We would definitely recommend this tour.
