Know More about this tour

The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the 1968 Arenal Volcano Park, where you will start your activity, a 2.5-hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1968 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.
Afterwards, you will be driven for another 30 minutes to reach La Fortuna Waterfall. The hike to the base of the waterfall has about 500 steps (which you will need to climb back up). Once at the base, you will have some time to swim and enjoy the waterfall.
You will spend about 2.5 hours hiking in a primary rainforest, where you will cross about 16 hanging bridges called the Mistico Hanging Bridges. This hike in a large forest with nothing compared to the one in the Volcano Trails, so enjoy it as much as you can..... and remember it's a Rainforest so expect rain, and bring your rain gear.
After the tour, you'll be dropped off at your hotel.

Our tour guide Pepe was amazing!!! We saw so many animals that we wouldn’t have seen if we didn’t have him. He was so sweet always checking that we were fine, we were fortunate to have good weather till the end of our tour. I would deffinitley book again! The food was also delicious!

Amazing overall experience. Simply cannot put in words how perfect the experience is. Juan Carlos was our tour guide (+ Jorge the driver) and they were just incredible. We had two kids with us (5 and 8) and they surprisingly managed through the whole tour while being thoroughly engaged the whole time, all thanks to the treatment and patience we got from Juan Carlos. They also threw in a sloth sighting to us as a lovely surprise for our kids and the rest on the tour :). Simply the best part of our overall trip to Costa Rica. Highly recommend to all!

I'll be honest, I'm really not sure why anyone would give this place a good review. We ended up wasting 15+ minutes waiting in line at every hanging bridge, and saw very little wildlife on the 2 hr hike. It felt more like Disney Land than an adventure. There are better things to do with your time and money in this area. The only bright spots were the 2 red poison dart frogs and viper that we saw on the hike.

We chose this event because our time in La Fortuna was limited. We wanted to see the most with one activity. This is a long day with a lot of physical activity in heat and humidity. That said, we loved it! We brought a backpack each and our own water, sunscreen, bug spray and snacks. Juan Carlos and Jorge picked us up. Jorge was a safe driver and Juan Carlos was professional, fun and engaging. First we went to Arenal and hiked up to see the volcano from another high point. It was beautiful and we learned so much about the volcano, and the people culture. We also stopped and saw animals along the way. Juan Carlos is gifted at finding animals you don’t see. The climb up is challenging and you should wear close toed shoes and be ready for a harder climb. Then we went to the waterfall. 500 steps down and up! Waterfall was worth it and we cooled down in the water. We went to a wonderful lunch-so good and filling. We finished at the hanging bridges rainforest. Juan Carlos found so many animals (even a 3 toed sloth along the road)! We found howler monkeys, and spider monkeys. Turing day-but we saw so much and met great people on our tour!

Our family had an awesome time! Our tour guide Angelica was great. We were able to see three great places and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch.

My family of four (including 15 yr old boy and 13 yr old girl) had a wonderful time on this excursion! Our guide was Roy, and he went the extra mile to make sure we saw wildlife and got good pictures. On his own (not part of the tour) he toted a professional grade camera on our extensive walk to capture great images with his telephoto lens. He let us see through the lens, and shared the pictures with us afterwards. He also let each group pose for a beautiful, professional-grade photo with the beautiful sights behind us! For me, the highlight of this full day was the volcano hike. He let us choose the level of difficulty for parts of it, and those of us who chose the "more challenging" path felt it was worth it. Great sights from higher points. And Roy included great information about the history of the Volcano and eruptions of other volcanos. We also enjoyed the picturesque views from the multiple hanging bridges. Visiting La Fortuna waterfall was pretty, but swimming at the base of the waterfall didn't meet our expectations. I'm glad I did it, but it was rocky (large boulders) and crowded. Mostly a good photo opportunity. And it was an opportunity for real exercise (500 steps down and 500 steps walking back up!). We didn't actually visit a local village, but we did have a very tasty lunch. And there were options for every diet: vegetarian, fish, beef, pork, chicken. In short, a great day-long excursion to experience Arenal and the beauties of this region!

Juan Carlos, the guide, and Oscar, the driver, were fantastic! They started looking for animals as soon as we were in the van, and we were able to see a sloth before the hike had even started! Juan Carlos' passion for creating a great experience for guests is clear and he gave everyone an opportunity to look at animals through his scope as well as taking pictures. It was great that our group was respectful to each other with being quiet, sharing videos, etc. Though we were not completely exhausted at any point throughout the day, we were definitely sweating as the hikes were fast paced with some changes in elevation. We were glad to have brought all the items they had recommended such as a change of shoes, bug spray, etc.

A very enjoyable experience. All 3 tours were very well organized and Raul the guide was outstanding. The lunch was also excellent. Overall, we had a great time!

This was our best day in La Fortuna and Arenal. Our tour guides were AMAZING! Their love and passion for what they do showed. The hike, waterfall, and hanging bridges gave us three wonderful and diverse experiences in the area - all in one day. The tour guides kept the learning and exploring going every step of the way. They graciously managed a diverse crowd and even the nerves of our ten year old on the hanging bridges. I HIGHLY recommend this tour for first timers!
