Nepal is a very friendly place, and this is the most lovely family I encountered while travelling there. They invited me back for a BBQ later on in my trip, after the class. I took part in the Puja for their new hotel as well, which was an incredible honour. Their children are very intelligent and friendly to talk to as well.
This is all aside from the fact that the food was amazing!I even let them know that I'd be returning one day for a visit, and that they can visit me anytime in Canada!

The cooking class is highly recommended. After all our adventure tours in Nepal, we wanted something more cultural and this was the perfect tour. Kapalan the chef guides you to make typical Nepalese dishes like dhal bhat and momo. We enjoyed our interaction with the local family as well as the insights gained from interacting with them in their house. We highly recommend this half-day tour who those who enjoy inter-cultural experiences, and interacting with the local people.

An experience not to be missed when in Kathmandu. We had finished our trekking a couple of days early so had some free time, so the idea of doing a cooking class seemed like a good idea, learning how to make a traditional Dahl Bhat and Mo Mos and Masala tea! We were not disappointed, Kalpana Thapa and her family welcomed us into their home, Kalpana shared some of her family secrets in this hands on cooking class. We were invited to eat what we had made with Kalpana and her lovely family. A fantastic and most memorable day. Highly recommended. Thank you Kalpana for your hospitality. Anne and Megan October 2017
