Travel through the gorgeous Bavarian countryside to one Germanys most famous attractions and a global icon, Neuschwanstein Castle, for a guided tour. Your skip-the-line ticket lets you bypass the entrance queues, which are notoriously long year-round. Learn about the castle's history, admire its opulent interior and enjoy spectacular photo opportunities of its postcard-worthy grandeur. If you have limited time in Germany, Neuschwanstein Castle is a must, and this tour makes it easy.

Know More about this tour

Enjoy your ride from central Frankfurt in the morning and relax on the scenic drive south through Bavaria's Alpine foothills. At the southernmost tip of the breathtaking Romantic Road, reach the enchanting little town of Fssen, approximately 161 miles (260 km) south of Frankfurt. Sitting high on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley is Neuschwanstein Castle, the breathtaking Neo-Gothic Revival palace of King Ludwig II of Bavaria that served as the inspiration for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

When you arrive at Neuschwanstein Castle, skip the entrance lines for a guided tour. Welcoming nearly 6,000 visitors per day and popular year-round, Neuschwanstein garners long entrance lines, but youll bypass the crowds and head straight inside with your guide.

One of three royal palaces built for the king, Neuschwanstein is by far the most distinctive, with its dizzyingly high perch, stunning grandeur and ornate interior. Tour the castle's interior, where the richness of King Ludwig is showcased on full scale, with his opulent living quarters and an array of historical paintings, mosaics and ornaments that display the impressive craftsmanship of the late 1800s. Your guide will provide fascinating commentary as you walk, describing the shy king who used Neuschwanstein Castle as his personal refuge during his turbulent reign.

After your tour, youll have some free time to stroll around the castle grounds, shop for souvenirs and enjoy spectacular photo opportunities against the backdrop of the Bavarian Alps. Re-board the vehicle in the afternoon for thedrive back to Frankfurt, and enjoy a provided lunchbox along the way.

We were just three of us booked for the tour. Still the company honoured the committment It was more or less like a private car tour on a luxurious car. With such a distance to cover we took full benefit of Autobahn reaching top speed of 220 Great trip, Amazing Value. Absolutely recommended.

It was excellent! Our guide was great! Very informative!

Although it was a rainy, cold day in August when we went the tour guide could not have been better! It was myself, my son, and another couple on the tour so there was leeway in our itinerary. Rothenburg was gorgeous and unique. I wished we had more time there and plan on going back! A unique experience -- but be prepared -- the day is a long one. Ours started at 8:30am and ended at 10pm!!

We had a great time on our tour. The tour guide and our driver for the day, Peter was so friendly, informative and made the whole trip so much fun! He drove very well and got us there and back in good time. We loved all the details he gave us on the way and how willing and flexible he was to allow us to have a good time despite the tight schedule. The only things that can be improved are that the van itself was a little dirty and could be cleaner. Also would have been nice to include some time to each lunch or dinner at Rothenburg to complete the tour. Overall an excellent trip and glad we made the choice to go with this tour. 5 stars for Peter who was one of the best people we met during our whole trip to Germany!

They are not kidding when they say day trip. Left at 8:30AM and got back after 10PM, but well worth it. We drove through a long swath of Germany, our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun. The stopovers were interesting and provided a chance to stretch a bit with all the car time.
    Neuschwanstein was stunning.

Thomas was a fantastic guide. There was a lot of confusion on how many people were going to attend the tour but when only two people came, they still held the tour which was greatly appreciated. The castle tour itself was short but very informative and the views were amazing!

This is an extremely long day trip from Frankfurt. It is more driving than actual sightseeing so be prepared to spend a lot of time in the car. The castle is lovely and the views are amazing so it is worth doing only if you have plenty of time to spare for it.

I believe this was only supposed to be to the castle, but we also did a brief stop in Rothenburg. The next day I was glad we had done this because the trip I booked for the next day to Rothenburg was cancelled on me.

Got to see a lot of Germany on this tour. Our driver was very knowledgable and had amazing stamina. Enjoyed extra stop at Rothenburg. Would have appreciated better dinner stop. Glad we took this tour.

I had a lot of fun. It is a long trip for a short tour of the castle but if, like me, you have always wanted to see it I don't think you will be disappointed. We just had a driver guide so he didn't talk much on the road but he was still nice. Great to be able to do it at short notice in low season.
