Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in New Orleans’ French Quarter, listen to a quick safety briefing, put on your helmet, and then set off by your comfortable 3-speed city bike! Pedal behind your guide at a steady pace, enjoying frequent stops to learn about the sights, pose for photos and chat with your guide.

Many say that the history of New Orleans can be traced through its neighborhoods, so your tour takes in seven of its most atmospheric boroughs to help you understand the different eras in New Orleans’ development. Cycle along the banks of the Mississippi River where the city was born, wind your way through the French Quarter, and pass in to the bohemian neighborhood of Fabourge Marigny.

Get a feel for New Orleans’ 19th-century swagger as you pass along Esplanade Avenue, home to mansions built by the city’s founders. After cruising around the leafy streets of the upmarket neighborhood, take a break in St Louis Cemetery 3 to see its fairgrounds as well as some impressive marble tombs.

Wind your way around the landscapes gardens of City Park to start heading back toward the French Quarter, passing through three more exciting city neighborhoods: Bayou St John, Mid-City and Treme. After 3.5 hours of exploring the city and learning about its history, return to the start point where your bike tour finishes.

  • It was a very informative and fun tour even though we were freezing. The weather had changed and it was cold. It was well worth the time. Jeremy was a great tour guide and we learned a lot of the history of New Orleans and saw some great sights. Thanks Jeremy.

The review I wrote for the NO music and heritage tour was suppose to be for the bike tour. Sorry Keith you were great and I would highly recommend the New Orleans Music and Heritage tour with KEITH.

  • This was a great bike tour. Our tour guide Jeremy was very personable and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about New Orleans and had a great time. Would definitely recommend this tour and Jeremy! Next time we will ask for Jeremy and try a different route!

  • Great job by the guide, funny and informative

  • Our guide, Daniel Laurino, provided an excellent tour of New Orleans! Having done Viator bicycle tours in Europe, I told my friends it was the very best way to see a city, but I had to almost force them to go. However, now this tour is the very FIRST thing they all reminisce about calling it one of the most fun things they did during their entire vacation!!! Daniel was very laid back and casual, very aware of the group at all times regarding safety, and a WEALTH of knowledge about the city and its history. Daniel has genuine passion for the New Orleans which was very obvious as he guided us through a diverse route through the city. I HIGHLY recommend this and ALL Viator bicycle tours.....no matter where you go!

  • our tourguide Chad was great. it was 3 1/2 hours long, which I felt could have been shorter. but the tour was great, took us through new orleans and throught the beautiful park which we would not have seen otherwise. our guide shared great stories and gave history at eacgh stop. the bikes could have been better quality, your rear will be sore. but overall great tour. would do it again.

  • I really enjoyed this tour. I highly recommend it for those who would like to see New Orleans by bike. A bit of it anyway! Very nice.

  • Best tour we had in New Orleans. Great way to see lots of the city including parts you probably wouldn't see if you hadn't taken it and learned many facts about its history and culture. Highly recommend you jump on the bikes! Jeremy our guide was awesome!

  • Great knowledgeable tour guide, with only three of us on ride good condition bikes as well.

  • Dan was our tour guide, and he was really informative. If you are not used to biking, 3.5 hours is really long....

  • We were fortunate to have nice weather for our Friday afternoon tour with our guide, Danny. We ended up essentially having a private tour since we were the only group to show up. Danny was incredibly informative and taught us a lot about New Orleans history, while also keeping things fun and interesting. Bikes were well maintained and easy to use. We were definitely tired by the end of the 3.5 hour ride, but it was well worth it. The speed at which you can go on a bike tour v. walking tour is the perfect tempo to get to interesting locations, but also take a deep dive into the facts of each place and the experience is much more engaging than if you were to take a driving tour. This was the highlight of our trip to NOLA!
