This was an excellent introduction to Northern Cyprus - it’s culture and history. Wound up being just my wife and me on the tour. Housem was an excellent guide - very friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable. He was eager to share his life and experiences with us.

We really enjoyed our tour in Northern Cyprus and thought it was well worth it! We were the only couple on the tour so we had a one-to one service from our professional guide Houssem, who we really recommend as his detailed knowledge of the history of everything we saw was brilliant and he was so enthusiastic and friendly, which made the whole trip very enjoyable especially as we had him all to ourselves for the day and it felt almost like an outing with friends rather than being on an official trip due to the very small size of the group! Houssem's colleague accompanied us as he was new to the company and taking notes, learning to work at the high standards demonstrated by Houssem from Sidetour. We have many lovely memories of the trip, and learnt a great deal about the sights and history with the highlight being the Kaprpaz peninsula and interacting with the very cute donkeys, whilst looking over the stunning Golden beach, and sampling some fresh Turkish 'guzlemye ' savoury type pancakes for lunch and fresh pomegranate juice after seeing the Apostolas Andreas monastery. We were also impressed at how Houssem was able to navigate Nicosia, knowing the streets like a local and although it was evening , at the end of the trip, when we walked around Nicosia , we felt safe as we trusted Houssem as our guide, finishing off with a coffee together to warm us up in one if the city bars , in advance of our drive back to our base in Limassol.
Only thing was that we were disappointed not to have visited Kyrenia, though we understand that this would have been very difficult to include in this particular trip due to time and really warrants a separate trip of its own. Also I noted in the tour description on Viator that it mentioned a Cypriot traditional lunch with watermelon, hellem cheese etc although this was not in our trip despite it saying that lunch and snacks were included...?
