Know More about this tour

Start your full-day tour of Oahu with morning pickup at your Waikiki hotel and set out in a deluxe air-conditioned coach with an expert guide.

Leaving Honolulu, drive past the ritzy Kahala area en route to the Amelia Earhart Lookout, named in honor of the famous aviator who in 1935 completed the first successful solo flight from Honolulu to the continental US, landing in California. Take in panoramic views of the 350-acre (142-hectare) volcanic crater that forms Diamond head and watch surfers catching waves in the ocean below.

Down the road, stop at the lookout over Hanauma bay, a marine nature reserve known for calm clear waters with excellent snorkeling. Then stop for a look at the Halona Blowhole and hope to see a geyser-like spray of water rocket into the air.

Travel into the hills to reach the Nu'uanu Pali lookout where you are treated to sweeping views of Kanehoe Bay and Kailua Bay. Continue to Byodo-In Temple, a smaller-scale replica of a 950-year-old Buddhist temple in Uji, Japan. The stunning site, which features ornate temple buildings with a golden Buddha statue that stands more than nine feet (three meters) tall, is tucked into the foothills of the Ko'olau Mountains.

Back on the road, enjoy great views of Mokoli'l Island (Chinaman's Hat), Kahana bay and the beaches along the North Shore of Oahu. Visit Sunset Beach and Waimea bay, made famous in the 1960s when big-wave surfing took hold here. In the winter, the beaches still draw surfers from around the world.

Head inland to the Dole plantation, where you have a quick stop to view lush tropical gardens, take a quick break and browse the gift shop.

During the day, take a 1-hour break to purchase lunch at a sit-down restaurant. Your tour ends with drop off at your hotel in the evening.

Leo our driver was Awesome! We enjoyed his sense of humor and his professionalism! The bus, as we understood was new and it was excellent! The trip it self was spectacular with all the scenery!

I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Tour guide, Tommy Chong who is native to the island did a wonderful job to give us history, local news about the island

Nothing special except the bus. It was very nice with much leg room and comfortable seats. Good thing because we spent most of the time in the seats. The visit to the Japanese temple was the highlight of the tour. The meal at the ranch was toning special and not worth what the tour company charged. Due to traffic along the north shore we didn’t have time to do anything more than have Dole whip at the plantation. we felt that the timing could have been better managed as the traffic was always bad on the north shore our entire stay.

Put this tour down if you got the time. Great overview of the whole island. Our guide, Ernie was very captivating with a great sense of humor!! The bus that we used was very comfortable and very clean.

Tour and tour guide were great, but since we were in a big coach bus we weren't able to get into Diamond Head or other parking lots.

We also only had limited time at certain places. At first it was fun, not much to do but take pictures.

However our stop at Dole plantation was just enough to get Dole whip (which is amazing) and shop a bit. We had to go back another day to do the activities at the plantation.

Our tour was booked based on the itinerary detail of the tour and the sites to be visited. It was also chosen given the MAXIMUM TOUR SIZE was stated to be 9!!!! A full-sized bus picked us up along with 21 others. When I asked about the stated 9 maximum size the driver laughed and said we could consider 4-5 groups all being taken in one bus! He then told us that we would not be visiting any sites where parking for a full size bus would be a problem so we did not see multiple sites listed as being on the tour such as Diamond Head which is clearly listed as a stop. The tour was supposed to be 8.5 hours but we were dropped off after 7.5 hours probably because we did not actually stop at multiple advertised sites!! In fact, the driver indicated that we were 30 minutes ahead of schedule so he decided to drive through a small community and point out his favorite shrimp stands or trucks. He also asked that we not mentioned that he had made a detour through the town in order to fill time. The guide talked continuously throughout the tour including his rambling about local politics and outside international interests in the island. In order to fill the entire time while driving this was very repetitive and not enjoyable. We have taken and enjoyed many Viator tours but this Viator partner; Polynesian Adventure tours was terrible and certainly NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED for our money. Unacceptable and money should be refunded.

The bus tour covered much of the coastline of Oahu with stops at picturesque localities as well good commentary about Hawaiian geology with our driver/guide Gensin.

This tour gave us a good overview of the island and the guide/driver, Keau (spelling?) was outstanding. Friendly, personable, informative about history and current events. He was proud of his home and culture and seemed to enjoy his job. The meal at the ranch provided many choices and the store stops gave you a chance to taste different products of the islands- nuts, coffee and pineapple - without any pressure to purchase. Polynesian Adventure Tours were a hit with us. The day was long, but went quickly and was enjoyable.
