Know More about this tour

Leave your centrally located Jerusalem hotel in an air-conditioned coach and visit the Mount of Olives. Enjoy the epic views from here over Old Jerusalem and the Temple of the Mount, where Solomon’s Temple, destroyed in 586 BC, and the Second Temple, razed to the ground by the Romans in 70 AD, once stood.
Drive along the Kidron Valley past the Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations and the ancient Jewish cemetery. Then, leave your coach and walk through the Zion Gate, one of the eight gates into Old Jerusalem. Pass through the Armenian Quarter to the Jewish Quarter, and see the Byzantine Cardo, the city's ancient main street believed to date from the 6th century AD.
Continue to the Western Wall, known as the Wailing Wall, where Jews have prayed since the destruction of the Second Temple. The wall is around 2,000 years old and its cracks are stuffed with prayer papers left by the thousands of pilgrims that come here.
Cross into the Christian quarter and follow Jesus’ footsteps along the Via Dolorosa (no. 5-14), the path he is believed to have taken to his crucifixion. See the Stations of the Cross and marvel at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the stunning church said to stand on his crucifixion site.
Leave the Old City through the Jewish Marketplace and Jaffa Gate, and end your tour at the Holocaust Museum in New Jerusalem. Here, view the haunting displays that chart the suffering and stories of the Jewish peoples during WWII.
Return to your coach and finish your tour with a drop-off back at your hotel.
Please note: Fridays, Saturdays and Jewish holidays the Holocaust museum is closed, this will be replaced with a visit to Mount Zion and Gethsemane church

  • Was meant to be in English, but had another language as well, slowing things down considerably.
    Timings not very punctual.
Guide knew his stuff and I learned a lot, but could've been better....

  • The tour was fine, however the guide fleeced us. Taking unassuming tourists to a place selling over priced food , and stuff. It’s really not done and literally left a bad taste. So anyone else planning to do this trip a word of advice carry your own food or pick what you want

  • Everything was great, extremely punctual.
The only negative thing is, that they dont give you free time to do souvenir-shopping. They show you only one overpriced store most likely because of commission.

  • The tour is very interesting and our guide was knowledgeable and helpful. But working with Viator is a nightmare. They're extraordinarily disorganized, e.g. regularly missing morning pick-ups. We booked five trips with Viator and each time we had a huge problem. They'd forget to pick us up, then send a frantic taxi to get us, as we went careening through the streets in the cab while other the other tourists already on the bus waited for us to arrive. Another day they told us the wrong start time so we missed the tour entirely!

  • Great tour, the New Jerusalem is a trip to the Yad Vashem museum, which is excellent. The tour of the Old Jerusalem was equally as nice, plenty to see and learn about it.

  • This tour did not go as advertised. We bought this tour because it says The first stop is at the Mount of Olives for a scenic overview of the entire city of Jerusalem. This mountain ridge is east of the Old City of Jerusalem and named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes.

Instead, they started on Mt. Scorpus and pointed to the Mount of Olives, then said that all of the mountains are part of the same mountains of olives, all the while pointing to and giving the history of the singular Mount of Olives.

Next, the description reads The tour then passes through the Garden of Gethsemane, at the foot of the Mount of Olives. This garden is known as the place where Jesus prayed, and also where his disciples slept, the night before his crucifixion.

You will also not go anywhere near the Gethsemane church because you're not actually ever on the Mount of Olives. It will be pointed out from the road across the Kidron valley and spotted in between breaks in houses and not so clear windows as you journey along the road outside the old city.

Also, if you have small children that aren't old enough to be charged during the booking through the Viator website there's a definite problem documenting your infant child as part of your tour. We entered that information into the remarks section but it was rarely communicated to the tour company that sub-contracts and does the tour. The result was that we were practically accused of deceiving them and that our 1 yr old constituted a separate person that we didn't inform them of. The drivers were very rude to my wife and went so far as to calling it 'a sin' for him to be a lap infant and not to have arranged a car seat. Obviously, this hurt my wife's feelings and it wasn't until I stepped in that he stopped practically yelling at her. It wasn't a good start let me tell you.

The rest of the tour upon entering the city is as advertised but if you came to visit those first two holy sites, you won't get it in any of these tours sub-contracted to the jewish-owned tour companies because they won't go near or through the arab neighborhoods on the Mount of Olives although we saw tour coaches aplenty on top of the Mount of Olives.

  • an awesome experience and tour.

  • Excellent guides

  • Excellent tour with experienced Tour Guide

  • A terrible experience from the start. Firstly, they claim they will pick you up at a central Jerusalem hotel. After you actually buy the tour, this is not necessarily the case. I stayed in one of the top hotels in central Jerusalem at one of the city's main avenues corner of Ben Yehuda St. and Meshilat Yesharim, but they wrote to me asking me to walk to another hotel, 10-15 minutes away in an area I didn't know, to get picked up. They claimed that this was because 'the transport wouldn't be able to access my street' total nonsense as Ben Yehuda is a major avenue, but it became clear on the day that they wanted me to walk to another hotel because everyone else on the bus was getting picked up in and around the other neighbourhood. This is a totally unacceptable practice.

During the tour itself, the guide marched us into a gift shop saying that it would be the only stop we would make during the tour and that it was a good idea to buy something to bless in the church. The prices they rolled out for our group were so overpriced that it was extortion I bought something for 240 and found the same item later that week for around 80 elsewhere in Jerusalem, and I would be happy to provide full details to the tourism authorities. The guide clearly had a relationship with the store.

This behaviour continued through the tour, for instance, as we were walking through the market, a vendor handed the tour guide a free bottle of water on condition that she stopped the tour and asked them if they wanted something to drink. He then sold drinks to the group at high prices.

At lunchtime, we were marched up some stairs into a restaurant where we were told we would eat lunch. No mention was given in advance and no choice was given to go out and look at nearby restaurants alone. Of course, the restaurant was extremely overpriced and the food provided was a horrible, stale buffet or else a small, basic schawarma or falafel pita.

At the end of the tour we were promised a return trip to the hotel. I told the driver where I was staying, he was surprised that the tour company asked him to pick me up at a totally different place in the morning, and he dropped me around where I was supposed to be. Proof that they had no reason to ask me to meet at another hotel other than laziness.

I will be formally complaining about this tour.

Jerusalem is a wonderful and historic place, and there are plenty of other tour operators willing to treat you with some decency.
