First I would lie to mention that our tour guide OJ was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and was able to guide us through the lengthy cues with ease. The walking was strenuous and it was very hot during our tour. We did, however, encounter a few issues during the tour that need mentioned. The first issue was a message from the operator regarding an offer to change mode of our transportation from van to the local tram. I’m glad we had an opportunity to look at the past reviews because we knew to decline the tram based on the reviews. The van was new, clean and nice, but I felt that was a bait and switch tactic. Our initial stop, was to a local carpet dealer where they offered a clean restroom, beverages, as well as a hard sell to purchase a Turkish carpet. We were not interested in purchasing a carpet but had to endure an hour of high pressure sales. Not a good start to our tour. We were a captive audience. Then it was off to visit the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, and the cisterns. All were very nice and OJ was great in helping us navigate. Then she took us on a 15 minute walk up to the Grand Bazaar, where she had other “friends” who gave us a second round of hard sales on Turkish carpets, and nuts/teas. We were hoodwinked into purchasing $44.00 of pistachios and teas, not knowing the cost and exchange rates until we made payment. After the grand Bazaar visit, we then walked another 15 minutes back to the initial carpet sales showroom where the tour guide left us and the driver then took us back to the ship. Overall, the historical portion of the tour was great, but, I would suggest that the operator remove the hard sales tactics. That was not a pleasant experience.

Loved our tour guide O.J. she was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and flexible on schedule as well. When there was too long of a line she'd find some place else that is interesting to occupy our time until the line was not as bad. She gave us options and was considerate of our preferences to seeing things that might or might not interest us. We visited topkapi palace, blue mosque, grand bazaar, and a lovely turkish carpet shop that was located on top of a historic cistern. She also helped us barter many of our shopping items as well. Our tour guide kept us safe and gave very good recommendations for everything. Booking was easy and Ayhan the booking manager contacted me through whatsapp and is very receptive. I needed transportation and he helped me book directly with no issues. Would highly recommend this travel agency to anyone visiting beautiful Turkey 🇹🇷. Thank you for an amazing time.

This tour supposed to pickup/drop off us at the cruise port with a car, but the tour guide sent us a message the minute before the tour, asking if it is OK to switch to the local tram, Since we didn't have a wifi on ship, we didn't see the message. The guide showed up without a car. It was a hot day in Istanbul and the local tram was crowded, the tour guide friendly reminded us to keep eyes on our belongings. We don't think it is appropriate to change the transportation without our consent. At lunch time, we told the tour guide that we'd like to try local food, she took us to an restaurant she apparently knew the owner, the food was quite expensive, a meal for 5 is about $130. Later she took us to a local shop and recommended some local delights which costed twice as much money as the same stuff in a shop at the cruise port.

This tour was OK - some decent information imparted about the main mosques that we would not have otherwise known. The main benefit of this tour was that, by going with a guide, we could skip the lines to the mosques and Cistern Basilica. The guide wasn’t overly knowledgeable (showcasing the difference between a guide that has a scholarly background in history versus someone who has learned to take walking tours for tourists), and the “whole day” experience was over in 4.5 hrs, of which our tour guide spent a not-inconsequential amount on phone calls. Guide could’ve interfaced with locals better - e.g. the guide offered to take us into a rug shop she knew well so that we could understand Turkish carpets better where we obviously had no intention of buying a carpet in the middle of a walking tour. Something seemed to get lost in translation because the carpet seller got frustrated and lost interest when after 5 minutes it became apparent to him (by us telling said gentleman) that we weren’t going to be buying a carpet right then and there. Similarly the guide was going to take us to her favourite vendors at the spice market, but when the first gentleman to call out to us from his shop did so, she ushered us inside and proceeded to sit down and make sour faces at the vendor when he spoke to her/us. Having to pay for the Cistern Basilica halfway through the tour was a bit grating (just include it in the fee), especially when our guide hurried us through the museum. Overall, for the price I wouldn’t recommend this experience, there must be better ones out there.

We enjoyed the tour thoroughly!! Leyla is an excellent guide and took very good care of us. We loved the Basilica Cistern which was actually not a part of the tour but she took time out to include that in our itinerary. We really appreciate that. We surely want to come back to Istanbul to explore more!👍👍

We had a delightful, individualized tour, filled with history, beautiful sites, and wonderful conversations. Our guide, Ezgi, could not have been a better fit for us. Highly recommend!

Excellent guide, very knowledgeable good English, I highly recommend this tour. I was nervous at first as I was doing this solo but the guide she really put me at ease, and I really enjoyed my day.

We were only in Istanbul for 3 days so wanted to make the most of the experience. It was a private tour and our guide spoke excellent English. It was a walking tour and the timing of arriving at certain places is quite critical because of the potential queues. Our guide seemed to know everybody which was nice as he seemed very well thought of.

I enjoyed the tour. We visited Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Sarai, Topkapi Palace, and Hagia Irene. The guide gave a broad narrative of historic events and answered detailed questions. The tour went smoothly, and it was easy to deep into the long and unique history of the empire. We also escaped long lines, and were able to devote all the time to sightseeing. Thank you.
