Know More about this tour

Kotor is situated in the most secluded part of Boka Kotorska (The Bay of Kotor). While it dates from the Illyrian period, Kotor developed into an important commercial and artistic center in the Middle Ages. Many empires battled for control over the city throughout the centuries: from being an autonomous city of the Byzantine Empire, free city of medieval Serbia, then under Venetian or Hungarian states, gaining independence and then returned to Venetian control once again, just to be occupied by France and then Austria, until Kotor finally became part of Yugoslavia.

Kotor tour begins at the main gate of the Old Town, also known as the Sea Gate (Morska vrata), where you will meet our guide. The tour will take you inside the city gates, and you will visit:
  • The Square of Arms
  • Clock Tower
  • Flour Square with Pima and Buca palaces
  • St Tryphon Cathedral with short guided tour of the Cathedral
  • The Bokelian Navy Square with Karampana
  • The St Luke Square with St Luke and St Nikola churches
  • St Mary of the River (The Blessed Ozana)
  • Northern Gate with Skurda river
After the tour of the city you will return to the Square of Arms.

  • This review is a little late, and we should definitely have posted sooner! Our guide, Jelena, was excellent! We never felt rushed, as she walked us through the old town, and along the walls of the city. Of course, the city itself is stunning, but Jelena's knowledge of the city, and it's history, made it even more interesting. Her English is flawless, and she has a wonderful sense of humour! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and would recommend it for anyone travelling to Kotor.

  • Tour guide was excellent, lots of insight and information

  • Our guide was absolutely fabulous. She was knowledgeable and personable. Her insights into the local way of life made for a special tour.

  • The tour guide was so professional but the old city was so dirty comparing to other cities we visited during the cruise.
I recommend car tour instead of city walk tour in this city.

  • Lovely place and guide! Our guide made all of the difference as she was born and raised in the country and was passionate and knowledgeable about it.

  • Guide very knowledgeable.

  • This was another wonderful tour. As the high tourist season had finished, we were privileged to have a private tour. Ana had a thorough knowledge of the Old Town and the history of Montenegro! This is a tour not to be missed BUT come on the off season!
