We met our tour guide, Weaver, at our hotel in Chengdu. The van was very spacious and comfortable. Weaver was very knowledgeable in the area and would briefly point out the different sights as he was driving us to the Panda Base. The Panda Base was so much fun and relaxing. I am glad we arrived early because it wasn't crowded and we didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed. We could just enjoy the pandas, especially the sleeping 5-month-old pandas! Weaver was also very knowledgeable in interesting facts about pandas. After the Panda Base, Weaver treated us to a traditional Sichuan lunch at a very popular restaurant. My wife and I were able to handle the heat, although our faces said otherwise! We then traveled to Jinli Street, which is a popular pedestrian walkway with lots of shops and sights. We particularly enjoyed looking at all the strange foods, like rooster combs and pig snouts on sticks and rabbit heads. Weaver also recommended a place outside of Jinli Street for souvenir shopping, and we were able to get a good deal on a few souvenirs! This was perhaps the most relaxing tour we have experienced, and we are so glad we were able to enjoy our time in Chengdu! Thank you, Weaver!
